I don't understand your English.

I already said in my post that you left out, that person might get lucky having Pfizer next August,we never know. It's his/her decision to proceed or cancel the appointment.

There are other issues to consider too...

- the vaccines are 2 shots. 2nd jab is 3 weeks after the 1st jab.
- it takes some days to built up immunity.
- so, all in, about 1 month after the 1st jab to get full immunity.

In the meantime, in Selangor:
- 4k new cases every day. (Long queues at the CAC...)
- yesterday's death toll: Hospital, 62. BID (brought in dead), 20.
- 2 containers added at Klang hospital as temporary mortuary.

- Two cremators will be added in Selangor soon for speedier cremation of the remains of non-Muslim COVID-19 victims.

They just announced they are going to give vaccine to age 12 to 17.
If they close all soon, how are they going to administer the vaccine?
Even if age 12 to 17 are all vaccinated, there are people who turn 12 almost every day. I would think there should have at least one ppv/clinic/hospital still giving out the vaccine to those who just turned 12. Do you agree?
*
The vaccination can be done in schools, when schools reopen... classroom by classroom.

If no jab... don't come to school the next day! smile.gif

For those children with known co-morbidity or parents too worried, the vaccination probably be at hospitals; as all hospitals dispenses covid vaccines too.

(Teachers already given walk-in previlege to get their jab at any PPV nearest to them, just like oku and senior citizens.)

Not a good idea to do it in schools. There are hundreds of schools in Selangor & KL. Do u expect our frontliners to travel to each and every single school just to administer the vaccine? It will be very tedious for them. Not forgetting it will take very long to complete (all schools for 2 doses) and also too much preparation to be done eg: beds, breathing machine & etc in case of sickness. Doing at PPV would still be a better option for all.
*
Schools can reopen district by district, town by town, area by area.

If not mistaken, the vaccination is starting from ages 16 and 17 first.

And what is so tedious for a mobile vaccination team to travel? It has been done months ago.

What's with beds, breathing machine etc? Didn't you read the post completely... those with co-morbidity or parents too concern, getting the vaccination at hospitals is available too.

Anyway the post was just an opinion... I don't have the authority and say on how things will be implemented!

Do they accept walk-ins for foreigners? I'm planning to go early tomorrow if they do
*
All foreigners, strictly by appointments from this week onwards. You must register and wait for an appointment.

The walk-in in at bkt jalil in previous weeks was a fiasco, overcrowding....

The higher number of BID (brought in dead) among non-citizens yesterday could be related to overcrowding at a few places on KL in the past 2 weeks.

Totally agree with you! They shouldnt be closing that fast.

I didnt realize they would be closing and just googled about it after reading your message  bangwall.gif

Are they closing all PPV in KV? or just walk-in's?

How about those waiting for second dose? My nephew is one of them who received first dose at IDCC and 2nd dose is on this Sat.

I saw on https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/en/ppv/ they still listed couple PPVs and I guess, they has more Kliniks opened as well.

hmmm
*
Look at the 1st jab numbers compare to other states... how to stay open for walk-ins (1st jab)?

Yeah agree, they should have kept one center for each major city.

I wondering if the closure is only for walk-ins, but appointments still going on?
*
Walk-ins are 1st jabs. 2nd jabs are with appointments given dy. (Right after you got the 1st jab.)

The 15/9 deadline was for walk-ins.

I think in several weeks time, a few more PPVs will shut down and consolidate for the 2nd jabs.

Look at the 2nd jabs in KL and Selangor...

They are not closing yet... just closed for 1st jab walk-ins.

These last few days, the walk-ins could be larger in numbers... due to the deadline given.

Again, look at the 1st jab and 2nd jab numbers. One mega ppv alone can handle the 1st jab numbers.

I think you miss the point, we were talking about how our gov closing all ppv in 1 go instead of closing it in stages, all is also done in short notices.

not just that, the gov also close the most convenient ppv klcc first. KLCC sit on the center of Klang Valley with good access of public transport to get people there for jab. KLCC also got multiple halls, if there is a sudden influx of walk-in, gov can re-open a second hall. We can easily scale the ppv size in KLCC base on the demand, that ppv should be the last to close.
*
In klang valley, there were about 30 ppvs closed during last month (August).

Below is the list of ppv that will be closing this month, Sept...

Some ppv that allowed walk-ins would be closing later this month, one on 20/9 and three on 30/9. The shut-downs were part of the overall plan in the vaccination rollout.

As on 16/9 (a holiday), the 2nd jabs in Selangor and KL were 14,016 and 15,863 doses respectively. I guess enough ppv(s) were still opened to handle the nearly 30k jabs without any chaos.

Limited places giving Sinovac as KKM is giving out small quantity of Sinovac.
Mostly available are Pfizer and AZ.

Yes, limited places giving free Sinovac booster shots.

The fact is that all the 3 brands (mostly used in Malaysia) were approved by the local health authorities and all the 3 brands were also approved as booster shots.

But the health ministry stubbornly insists that heterogeneous booster (mixing of different vaccines) works better while many are still unsure whether it is good or not to have Pfizer booster shots when they were inoculated with Sinovac vaccine in the first two doses.

There were reports that up to 40% of the appointments given in MySejahtera were missed. Among the reasons were that many prefer to have homogenous booster shots (same type of booster shot as the vaccine they were inoculated with.)

I think the voices of those who wanted to have Sinovac booster shots were not loud enough to be heard. Some maybe just pay for a Sinovac booster shot at clinics/private hospitals instead of waiting.

https://selcareclinic.com/our-clinics/

By the way... there are only 7 selcare clinics in Selangor, wherea there are 8 in KL.

Location of the 7 Selcare clinics in Selangor:
- Desa Mentari
- Puchong
- Putrajaya
- Sentosa, Klang
- Shah Alam (Section 13)
- Skypark Subang
- USJ Sentral

---+---+----

Downloaded selangkah app, and registered name, i/c, and phone... then tried to book an appointment for a booster shot after filling in more personal details including email address...

It looks like all the clinics in Selangor no more slots available...

Tried the clinics in KL, just to look see... available dates from 10 January onwards.

These clinics provide sinovac?

So I assume that all others are Pfizers?
*
This is sinovac booster under the Selangor state government, which I had posted more info in another thread.

About 157,000 doses free to residents in Selangor.

The shortcomings in the program:
- selcare clinics are not through out the state. Half of them are in KL.

- the amount of doses given out are not that huge... almost all of them already fully taken and booked.

They should make more doses available... I believed they still have hundreds of thousands unsold doses in the warehouse.

They 'Selangor state'? No lah, they only have bought sinovac vaccine - about 2 million doses, planning to sell to foreign and factory workers, but tak laku... since it is free under the national vaccine rollout program.

Where can I get free Sinovac booster shots supplied by the government?

Thank you for the clarification. smile.gif

- The free sinovac under Selangor state already fully booked. Unless there is further news of more doses made available, don't waste time...

- Some clinics under ProtectHealth (KKM) do have sinovac booster doses as it is an alternative option if the recipient cannot take other types of vaccines. It is up to the doctor in charge. It depends whether the clinic has sinovac in stock or not.

- KKM's preferred booster is Pfizer. All clinics will have it in stock. It would be a disservice, to the particular clinics that have sinovac too, if these clinics are revealed in open forums, they will be getting too many calls from all over the state and not only calls from their particular neighborhoods.

- What you should do? Best to follow the appointment given in Mysejahtera, and talk to the doctor or staff whether they have sinovac or not. Then make the decision to proceed or not.

- In the meantime, do NOT click and confirm the booster appointment in MySjh. If the appointment is missed, a new appointment (date & venue) would be given 2/3 weeks later.

(further to my above post posted yesterday...)

- I got my 1st booster appointment last month, and I missed it (due to some personal reason). Then got another about 3 weeks later at another clinic nearer to my house. Missed it too. Then another appointment, this time even nearer - within walking distance.

- So, went there... and asked whether I can have sinovac as a choice. They say no problem to have sinovac as booster shot. They have limited supply, and not offering it to everyone. Thus if people called and asked, they would simply say "vaccine MySJ give is phizer".

---+---+---

Regarding the booster registeration into MySJ...

Immediately after the booster shot, it would be updated into MySJ.

In the 1st tab, under COVID-19 Vaccination and "Vaccine for ____", it will show a blue tick on Booster Dose, and it is pending for you to reply whether there is any serious side effect after the shot.

After awhile, the blue tick will turned green, and stating Booster Dose completed.

On the profile tab, you will see... the details of Dose 1, Dose 2 and Booster Dose.

Also some worries about the side effects. So no vaccine until forced by gomen 😁

Booster jabs rollout might be slowing down as it reaches 50% of adults. It is currently at about 48%.

Secondly, for those wanting inactivated vaccine/booster, it might be better to wait a bit as kkm just received 500k doses of Sinopham inactivated vaccine yesterday, donated by UAE, and another 500k in 2 weeks time.

Not for private market like previously??

But yeah..
As more getting booster.. percentage higher..
Sure slow down... Among adult population...
*
Vaccines received from donations cannot be resold... it would be scandalous.

Since nearly everyone (except children below 12 years old) are fully vaccinated, the vaccine most likely will be put into use as booster doses.

Though Pfizer was primary used in PICK's booster rollout, sinovac inactivated vaccine is also available in certain clinics under ProtectHealth.

Sinopham is also inactivated vaccine same as sinovac.

Sinovac was known to have nil side effects (no fever, no headache, no sore arm) unlike Pfizer.

Most folks fully vaccinated with sinovac preferred to have sinovac as booster jabs too. This was the reason why the booster rollout by Selangor's Selangkah was fully booked in a matter of days.

Sinopharm, if available, would be an option.

Have you tried this site?

https://vaksincovid.protecthealth.com.my/find

Do a search on available clinics in Perak, then filter the long list of clinics by selecting Ipoh in the town field, and also "offsite" in the ppv name field. Then either call them or go there...
