Hi. I recently bought a Lenovo legion 5 pro with RTX3070 graphics. Looking to use it for some gaming, editing photos/videos and as a supporting work laptop for my wife. Looking to get a external monitor as sometime working with a laptop at home is tiresome with the small screen and an extra screen really helps in terms of productivity.
I don't really know what to get as a long term purchase as I don't plan to upgrade or change setups anytime within the next 3 years.
So between a 1080p monitor or 1440p monitor (preferably with a high refresh rate of over 120hz for good gaming experience) which do I go for? And which aspect ratio will be best? Am leaning towards a 32" WQHD but my mind is not set yet.
I am currently residing in Bangkok and have a budget of about 15,000THB or ~2000MYR.

QUOTE(qubala @ Jul 8 2021, 12:10 PM) The best monitor size for 1440p is 27inch. Don't go for less or higher than that. because u will have problem with TEXT too small or BIG acer nitro xv272up & asus tuf gaming vg27aq1a Both good value prices for 1440P ... even its 2019 model. Personally, i like dell monitor for its color accuracy and premium feel. go for DELL S2721DG Thank you for the recommendations. I checked all 3 out and specs wise, all quite compelling. Pricewise, all the acer and asus are definitely cheaper but the Dell has a more appealing look to me QUOTE(slaveone @ Jul 8 2021, 01:38 PM) 27 inches Dell S2721DGF LG 27GP850-B 32inches LG 32GP850-B Thank you for the recommendations. The LGs has very nice specs and seems like the dell is a common favorite

QUOTE(Kelvw @ Jul 19 2021, 11:36 PM) I have a Legion5 with RTX3070 too and I use a 32:9 at home I had a 34" Ultrawide but I felt I needed more immersion. Probably off topic but perhaps it gives you an idea of scale? Here's the 34" Ultrawide 3440 x 1440 I had previously. vs my current 49" SuperUltrawide 5144 x 1440 Woahhh. Nice setup. How far back do you sit from the screen? I will most probably a good 1.5-2ft away from the monitor so I think an ultrawide will be the best choice. Any recommendatons? Oh and how is the performance of the graphics while gaming on that monitor?

QUOTE(Kelvw @ Jul 21 2021, 08:42 PM) Thanks! I'm sitting about 2ft away from it, however I'm just resting on my wrist which is fine for me. Since it's running at 5120 x 1440 it it pretty taxing on the card. Some games I can run on Ultra i.e DeathStranding, Forza5, StarWars:Squadron. I had to dial back on other FPS i.e Battlefield 3, Cyberpunk. Okay good to know then. I haven't tried any AAA titles on the laptop yet so don't know what the performance will be. Based on your review, will most probably go for a 3440x1440p screen since I don't have that much table real estate right now and maybe upgrade later down the road. Thanks again for sharing!
