last time had used this AV, got prob when try to update

yup, I had the same problem too changed to avg because of this...anyway, it's a good and effective antivirus

Yeah, my only gripe with Avira is slow update, albeit it's a great free antivirus.

if got problem to auto update, can always try manual update.

maybe the avira version installed into ur pc not the latest.
try install the latest one then only update.

i like this software so much, easy to use and can scan many viruses,so i will try it out for new version see what happen

Yea..its a good antivirus program compare to avg..although the update have some problem sometimes,but it all depends to its function.

is this better than avast home edition?

also facing update problem last time about 1 month ago......fresh installed but cant update virus definition.gave up and go for avast home

It's look like the free version will cause the update problem. It have state at they website there have a premium update server for those paying for they product. Maybe they have limit all the user to update the virus defination.

after updating to this new version, the avira program seems slower to be terminated when the windows is shutting down

everytime i shut down or restart, a windows pop up and call me to end the program, but half way it will terminated itself

If using avira free version,u can't download virus definition. it have been cease long time ago.
u can only update through Internet.
i used this anti virus for 3 years.never face the problem.
