Last week bro Q passed me Bro Ho's patah rod and i WAS LIKE wtf?!?!?

The way that the handle broke shows clearly that it have been stepped on pretty harsh... sad.gif

In the first place i was thinking to chop off the patah part, but then i notice another tube of metal is inside. If i need to chop it off then it will be about 3~4 inch shorter liao. I decided to go for some reinforcement to the chipped part.

eventually the rod is completed and according to the japanese style rod handle design... smile.gif It looked much better than all Conolon out there...there's only 1 in the world.. tongue.gif

2pc handle section. Of course the extension handle can be removed from the butt and making the Conolon a toman casting arsenal

Bro Ho,
You gotta say thank you to bro SA for contributing the carbon fiber sticker. smile.gif Hope you like the outcome

For Merchong trip anglers...

For my own boat niah.. smile.gif

I have prepared 2 setup for the sailfish game

1. Maguro Jig Master PE4 max + Okuma Convector + JigMan X4 PE3(40lb)
2. Custom bottom rod(titanium guides + 20kg backbone) + Okuma Zonar + 40lb Fins PRT

Spare setup
1. Thomas Stroker + Daiwa CY4000 + PE3(40lb) TuffLine XP

Jigging Setup
1. Custom Spiral Wrap PE1~2 + Abu Garcia STX + 30lb Power Pro
2. Custom unnamed(just completed last week) PE1.8 + Abu Garcia Cardinal 302 + 20lb Stren

Game plan
We will deploy 2 or 3 lines out for sailfish, and we will do jigging while waiting for strikes from sailfish

Based from my infos from other anglers, the sailfish not that keen on hitting the bait yet, hopefully this round they are more willing to bite.

Anyone interested to have a custom rod built by me?

Advantage of having your own customised rod
1. preferred weight
2. preferred spec
3. preferred rod handle design
4. preferred length to fit your style
5: preferred color and wrap design.

Material breakdown
Rod blank: RM60~RM100 depending on blank brand and spec
Eva sponge handle: RM 13~15 depending on color
Fuji Reel seat: RM22~25 depending on size
Butt aluminum Gimbal: RM15~20 depending on brand
Guides option:-
Fuji SiC 1 set: RM120+- depending on guide size
Zirconia guide 1 set: RM80
Fuji HardLoy 1 set: RM70+- depending on guide size
Taiwan SiC guides: RM60~rm80 depending on guide size

Based on the figures above, the cost of the material is about RM200 and it's all depending on the material that you want to use...

As for my workmanship, i'll charge RM88 niah... smile.gif

Anyone interested?

Bro rory, i will always support you maa.. i believed all our friends here also do..  thumbup.gif
Chronach you service that nite was super smooth.. i cast 0 drag with SP, fly for distance worr... Very good job.. Thanks.  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
Next time i wanna open it myself.. i hope i didn't have to send it to you in plastic bag.. sweat.gif

Yesterday went to D spot again.. that spot supposed to be ahWAN spot and i've tried your SP.. but instead i caught 2 ahMAN.. dowan to post photo as kicimiau only (p/s - so action after AG size.. MuaHaHaHa... laugh.gif ).. I transfered it to big pond as i believed ahWAN population decreased edi compared to ahMAN..

I stand in water and i saw with my bear eyes, about 1.5 kg ahWAN swimming near my boots.. unfortunately he ignored my SP.. tried few times. Theres big bunch of baby and i believed thats their daddy as distance from baby quite far..

On different occasion, also about 1 kg ahMAN also ignored my SP..  sad.gif  maybe my presentation still weak..

Conclusion from yesterday.. fish prefer lighter color.. white or yellow or orange compared to dark one.. 1st, i used dark colour (brown chocolate something..), cast few times just nothing. Then i changed to yellow, 1st cast they whacked edi... same spot! Same goes with R2S froggy.. nothing..

bro rory, your yellow SP almost gone edi as toman really whacked it woorrr...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Bro VW,
Glad that you put the SP to good use.. smile.gif

Worry not, it's expected to be hancur each strike.. smile.gif

Spot D with plenty of grass got alot of ahMAN it seems...hmmn....gotta try it one day.. smile.gif

Yesterday i went to laguna bringing family, was using TDX 10lb fireline crystal and casting a softplastic....also ZERO magnetic brakes.. smile.gif Guess that your skill improved edi..not about the servicing.. smile.gif

Bro Vw,
thank you for your support and yes, i'm aware and according to our arrangement

Bro Q,
Allow me to say and it's definitely not marketing.. smile.gif

Your rod is a great rod with good back bone. The only part that kurang a little is on your handle. The butt handle is slightly short for a jigging rod and when you do the 'ketiak' jig, the reel is too near to your chest thus making it tough to crank.

Secondly, due to the handle that is short, you need to use more strength to jig as the weight and balance of the rod is furthur at the back of the rod. It could help if the handle is longer and top EVA handle is slightly longer.. smile.gif

Purely my 2 cents nia.. smile.gif

AhMAN = Toman
AhWAN = Haruan

smile.gif

Bro VW,
Yes all the SP got funny spell as i have poured the Berkley Scents on it.. smile.gif It's a type of attractant that leaves a trail of smell thus inviting more predator to be around the same casting spot.

I have also used some special ingredient in the mixture to entice more MALE hunters to show off to the females that they are greater.. smile.gif

It's fish pheromones.. smile.gif Sperm or vagina juices

Bro Nico,
Good that you have such intension.. smile.gif

Next round after Merchong, i try to do a Jarak trip...for bottom and also jigger.. smile.gif

Stay tune yah...BTW, when is your next Linggi trip? Can fit additional 2 ~3pax for night fishing - the angler mainly do jigging nia

You said it's quite deep there with some ship wreck, is you boat parking as in anchored or drifting??

Added on September 10, 2007, 2:36 pmAnother question bro Nico,

Is the light turn on for night fishing? or just pitch darkness and waiting for a bite?
