Hi guys,

I wanna get a Kedah plate number.. But I'm living in KL..
Specific number, but it's all different numbers
KDH8291
Have no car new now, but planning to get one soon..

Running number is now KDG already..
So am afraid the number will "hilang" soon..

Anyone have any suggestions?

KDH is upcoming number, which u said current is KDG. There are 2 methods of buying numbers:
1. Tender. Each state JPJ will announce the date for their UPCOMING alphabet tender open and closing date. U can check from the jpj website or call the respective state jpj for the dates. In this method, u need to fill in the tender form, and bid the price for the number u wanted. And attached along at least 50% of the tender price in wang pos att to Pengarah JPJ. Once, the tender close, the officer will open the all the bid letters, and award each number to highest bidder. Note that there is minimum bid for the number(single digit, double digit and so). Those failed bids, or lower bids will get the returned wang pos. Those who won will get a confirmation letter, which will be asked to settle the balance and informed of the expiry date for the number.

2. Buy straight from counter. This is easy part, where u just go to the main/hq of the state jpj. There is a counter where the CURRENT running number is sold. Meaning, the tender bidders will get the opportunity first, and the remaining numbers which have no bidders, will be left to the counter for sales. On the spot, if the number is available, jsut pay and get the confirmation letter and resit. Normally, in sngor case, there will be a board where all the available numbers is listed, updated daily. Normal numbers will be RM210. Some nombor kahwin like 2211 or 4433, in some instances, the counter officer will ask u to meet the boss privately, and nego the price. Not sure if this is ISO, but its in our culture, if u know what i mean. biggrin.gif

U definitely need to go to the respective state jpj for registration. Means, if buy kedah plate, must go kedah jpj to register. Car from where dont care. The expiry date can be extended, but troublesome, coz need to gojpj and meet the officer and explain why and so..

this kinda number definitely, u will not have exact answer. Coz it will fall into tender bidders, definitely. So up to u to bid the price, but u can alwiz looked into bidding history and see the rought estimation. And different state have different standard. Like wilayah, will have higher price for 333 compare to kedah plate for 333.

p/s : unless, u got cable.

and, also. If those want super cun numbers but lazy to go all this tender, can alwiz flip motor traders mags, there are many runners that sell the numbers. THey won the bid, thru tender or cables dunno, but they sell nice plates, at a cost.
