from what i had read iridium can last longer than platinum. performance wise, iridium should be better than platinum as well since the centre electrode is finer.
personally i never tried platinum. i used hks iridium, so far so good, never had any plug issue even on high rev 9k rpm. the only downside i can think of is the price tag...

Both iridium and platinum plugs do not improve performance directly. They are suppose to complement the modifications done to the car. These plugs can be purchased in a variety of heat ratings to cater for the modifications of the car. They are also meant to be durable to withstand the punishment of modded engines. I used NGK IRIWAY 7 and 9 iridium for my previous Satria 1.8 turbo and currently using NGK Laser Platinum for my WRX.
Durability is evident as I've used the IRIWAYs to about 50k km before changing, whereas I'd usually blow standard plugs by about 5-10k km. Based on the service records, the original Laser Platinums that came with the WRX lasted till 80k km before the car was sold to me.

agreed with sleepwalker, u can't expect hp gain just from iridium spark plug. if u have hp gain by just adding iridium plug on stock engine, then ur previous plugs must had fouled out.

QUOTE(-dexter- @ Sep 6 2007, 04:54 PM) bro wats the meaning of laser platinums?...how much ar? That's just the name for that particular NGK model. Average cost is about RM45 each, so 4 for about RM180. However, their heat range is only from 6 to 9. If you need anything hotter than 6, don't think you can use Volker. This post has been edited by sleepwalker: Sep 6 2007, 06:38 PM

However, in their website they have Proton but not Perodua but you can most probably use your equiv Daihatsu model to check.
