Hello, so sorry if this a dumb question but nonetheless I have no idea. I just took out my aircon filter to wash, and i noticed after taking out, the top of the aircon is actually exposed, I was under the impression that the top would be covered fully as a whole, is daikin aircon or any aircon for that matter supposed to be expose ?

well, if your air-cond's top cover fully, how air-cond can convert the hot air in your room into cold air leh?
I mean, to convert, your air-cond need to accept hot air somewhere right? |

I see, yea i understand that concept, but just want to make sure it's designed like that, that exposes the top.I mean, to convert, your air-cond need to accept hot air somewhere right? |

That is the best place to have the inlet as is 'hidden' when is install above a man's height / eye level.Any exposed design that is in front or side panel will be ugly. |

Aircond is about taking "hot air" pass through cooling coil, then come out as cool air to your room. Yes your picture above is the air intake, the filter is to filter the dust of your hot air, which come out clean cool air.

Thanks guys, was just shocked at first that the top was exposed like that, because I never did know it's supposed to be expose to let hot air pass through. Thanks a bunch !Any exposed design that is in front or side panel will be ugly. |

Hot air rise upCold air sink down So ac mfg make aircon input hot air suck from top Output cold air on the bottom with flap angle control This is perfectly normal. |
