i was on 1.1.2 from last november until yesterday when i finally switched to 1.1.3.

Things I like about 1.1.3 (with app pack upgrade):
1) Lyrics function is back
2) Wriggling apps and the ability to move them to another page to better organize your 'launcher home page'
3) Creating shortcuts from Safari to websites
4) The map function (with hybrid mode) is cool and not available in the previous version.  But this requires you to either purchase the USD20 app pack or jailbreak your 1.1.3 ipod touch to install.

Things I don't like about 1.1.3:
1) I hate the iphone dock.  The transparent dock in 1.1.2/1.1.1 is nicer.
2) Battery life seems to drain faster in 1.1.3
3) Can't use Summerboard and Customize if you jailbreak (but it's only a matter of time before it is available for 1.1.3)

yes, you can get your lyrics from various sources and paste it in.  it will appear if you have 1.1.3 (i don't think you need the app pack installed for this but i can't be sure).

as to whether your media files remain, there's been conflicting reports.  i jailbroke with the Elite Team's method and everything remained.  even purchased music and videos can be played.  but others users have reported that they could not play purchased files or they also lost their files. 

i personally would recommend staying away from jailbreakin 1.1.3 for the moment.

no, you can't insert the time frame as the lyrics won't scroll automatically.  you need to manually scroll the lyrics yourself. 

to view the lyrics of your song, just keep ipod Touch upright (vertical position) while playing your song and touch the album art twice i think (can't test it now since i downgraded back to 1.1.2)

While on playback, tap once on the album cover art when in portrait orientation (like u usually do to reveal extra control buttons). It will display lyrics on top of the album cover art.

plug ur ipod to ur pc/mac, make sure u have internet connection, it will automatically loads u the page for u to update... u need an itunes account to do so...

u cant if u want to be truly malaysian... get a free ones by google-ing the methods and follow the steps... for ur info, u cant buy directly using ur CC since we r not listed... i suggest u to PM tishiban for itunes gift cards as he is selling it...

anyone have upgrade to 1.1.4? any difference with 1.1.3? pls give some review.

Maybe u should try transfer the songs via Winamp 5.52. dunno if syncing other computers' iTunes will erase the software update file. currently not using january software update. but i think if the iPod Touch does come with the update preinstalled, maybe it will be no prob.

Purchased music I'm not sure... but iTunes has no problem.
So far so good.... Installed several 3rd-Apps just now.... such as ToDoList, NativeCN, PocketMoney, Money, Compass, Screenshot, APLogger, Finder.

Actually the front screen is scratch resistant glass, look for protective cases for it or use Gelaskin to cover the back from scratches.
Restore and sync back with the PC/Mac you use to bought the January Software Upgrade.

may i kno is the function of ipod touch is same as iphone except for the extra phone n cam feature??

use MobileChat u can access MSN and other messaging sevices, but no Yahoo.
use Fring u can access MSN, Yahoo, and even can do VoIP call using Skype.
both are native applications, no need to use Safari.

Press POWER button while holding HOME button, u can do a screen capture on iPod Touch with 2.0 firmware.

The Chinese hand writing recognition is very good, love it! Free app AIM also is one of my favourite where I can chat with my iChat contact on my iPod 

It come with firmware 2.0 with app store too..
