If zero or minimal debt, that very good.

If got big salary but high monthly commitment also no point. Like salary is 30k, but debt is 25k. End up enriching banks only.

PS me also slightly above 14k.. but few years younger than you are if you say 40 getting that salary package.. but my monthly expenditure is < RM4.5k.. keeping it as low as possible.

Why not? As long as you spend within your means, you can survive even if your salary is way below that.

If single, you're considered rich. If family man with 3-4 kids, you're poor.

If you want to live comfortably in PJ/KL, I would say 15k nett combined income if no kids.

If kids, 20-25k nett region would bring you comfort.
