Just an update. Went to see the wangsa maju computer fella and he reprogrammed the eeprom. Problem solved. Thanks to all who contributed

He quoted 100 buck if I brought my laptop there and 50 if he just shipped me the programmed eeprom

Thanks for the info.

This type of specific repairs which locked behind specific tools always cost sky high, RM50-100 sounds reasonable enough.

Yeah. Plus he made sure all ok, can boot etc. Cos the first firmware he uploaded wasn't ok. The second load only worked.
