That is weird you didn't get it, I just fresh clean install yesterday but after two updates, it is in new design.

Maybe it is randomly pick, I believe you should have it soon. The fastest way is tick "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available".

I got its Widgets update this morning, after updated 'Windows Web Experience Pack' in Microsoft store.
Btw, do you feel jagged when scrolling in widgets?

Yup, it is a bit jagged, not as smooth as previous one, probably still need to wait Microsoft optimize.

Congratulations you finally get it. Haha!

When release, Microsoft will tell you what is the updated. Now is not release yet, just certain features is added already if you choose "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available."

Windows 11 mandatory updates are wrecking SSD speeds

Windows 11 has an isolated problem that could make your device run slower when you try to perform disk-intensive tasks, such as copying large files from one location to another or playing a large game. Ever since the release of March 2023 cumulative updates, users are experiencing longer PC boot times and slower SSD speeds.

Several reports on our forum (comments), Reddit (1, 2, 3), Feedback Hub and other online platforms complain that installing Windows 11 mandatory cumulative updates released after March 2023 is slowing down the speed of some SSDs dramatically. This includes the most recent June 2023 update or the forthcoming July Patch Tuesday.

This performance issue doesn’t appear to be widespread, but it is real, and many people have confirmed slower SSD speeds after Windows 11’s mandatory updates. Some Reddit users have reported a massive decline in SSD speed from 7,000MB/s to 3,000MB/s, and in some extreme cases, down to as low as 1,000MB/s.

According to our investigation, here’s a list of all affected cumulative updates:

The upcoming July 2023 Patch Tuesday update since the issue remains reportedly unresolved in June 2023’s optional update.
KB5027303 – June 2023’s optional update.
KB5027231 – June 2023’s Patch Tuesday (mandatory).
KB5026372 – May 2023’s Patch Tuesday (mandatory).
KB5025239 – April 2023’s Patch Tuesday (mandatory).
KB5023778 – March 2023’s Patch Tuesday – the issue was first flagged after this cumulative update. KB5023706 is also affected.
Interestingly, uninstalling the updates released post-March 2023 Patch Tuesday seemed to restore the SSD speed back to 7,000MB/s, which implies that the issue may be directly related to the recent updates.

I just done disable unnecessary service that running on background. Now RAM use less than before. Previously, RAM usage like yours.

This taken with Brave running with 1 single tab.

For me, I would just use StartUp Manager or CCleaner to remove startup hogging applications. Actually it is not necessary those applications to take TSR (Terminate & Stay Resident) .. we can just execute it afterall and it works well smile.gif

after so many donkey months the article was published, why does MS still take so long to push out this feature to users?

Windows 11 'never combine taskbar' buttons mode

QUOTE
"We're excited to bring you an early version of one of our most requested features for Windows 11, never combined mode," Microsoft's Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlanc said.

"In never combined mode, you'll be able to see each window of your applications on the taskbar individually, as well as their corresponding labels."

Redmond says the feature is still in early development, but it will allow users to set the taskbar to display labeled app icons individually.
... i wonder how can the developers be "excited" in re-implementing a feature that has been with Windows for eons which they stupidly removed OR just happen to forgot to include it back into Windows 11.

the absence of this feature is so annoying as it seriously hinders the ability to multitask efficiently in my workplace and yet, MS has the audacity to force my PC into Windows 11.

I also hate UI changes, it actually should be "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but developers always change the UI for the sake of changing it.

Luckily I switched back to Windows 10 from Windows 11, I can understand the sentiments about "never combine taskbar".
