Have not shopped for a laptop for the longest time, but now my kid needs one for college.
One think I notice is there are so many OEM brands in Shoppee/Lazada.
Did some exploring and noted they are mostly from Low Yatt Plaza sellers etc.

Ok, I am used to OEM DIY desk pc but a little skeptical when it comes to Laptop.
Pro is these laptops come with good specs, and probably 20-30% cheaper.
Con is I doubt their warranty compared to branded names like HP , Asus, Lenovo, Dell etc.

So anyone using these brands, are they reliable , any support issue, DIY repair and parts is easy?

OEM Brands i think -
Ace
AsusF
Dere
Avita
Bmax
JOI
Machenike

Most of them ship from overseas i think, so any issues claim warranty will be difficult (if not impossible).

JOI is local brand maybe claim warranty easier.

You can better check with local shops , sometimes they got old stocks but new laptops, maybe a bit outdated specs, depends on your requirements.

I've bought multiple Avita laptops (the AMD r5 ones, and more recently AMD r7). Very good price for the performance (CPU). Build quality not too impressive, but budget was the most important factor (buying for some others who have limited budget and not much knowledge).

Sellers I chose were local, and quite good customer service (initial period). Don't know whether it will last multiple years, but with WFH and PDPR sometimes no choice la.

I think JOI and Avita got local service centre, others are not sure.
