1 mil leave in epf or any generating interest
calculation:
1 mil = 5%@ rm50k per year rm4k per month passive .... this money can leave it to compound interest (A)

1 mil to spend ... assumption no interest (B)

i million bahagi 12 months bahagi 20 years = rm4166 per month
so easy to retire with such amount
emergency can use the funds from A to tambah.

true if you like living average, ie 2 storey terrace house in outskirt, used toyota camry etc.
if you want to live in opulence its 20 mil minimum

means he dunno how or where to spend his time is it?

actually there are many things can be done even from the comfort of home. just that whether he want to do or not only

for me i would alternate between read books/manga/comics/manhuas/webnovels (yes there are endless to read), play computer games and just chase drama/movies. i can live with the monotony 24/7/365 no issue. the only thing stopping me is no money.

let's not even talk about picking up skills.

i will retire if my passive income from rental reach 10k

maybe i gotta save because 10k is not much.

10k is more than enough even for 2.

When getting old, you don’t use that much money.

Make sure have enough insurance to cover your medical and health.

Depend on the lifestyle you want.

When I’m old, I want to travel the world whenever I like

Like this quarter fly to Paris with wife (at least business class, since so old d), next quarter fly to visit kids studying in overseas etc.

Those cost quite a bit

This is enough for middle class people. Even can holiday every yrs. Not a problem.

If you want above average, than 10mil also not enough. And nothing is enough.
