found this interesting. apparently someone from Sony's office in Liverpool altered quote from an article in the March edition of Time Magazine entry in wiki. The Sony employee added the following line:

QUOTE
Halo 3, the third game in the best-selling Xbox game franchise Halo (video game series), is a highly anticipated under development by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 and is expected to "set a new high water mark" for History of video game consoles (seventh generation)|next-generation games, Although it wont look any better than Halo 2

It amazes me how corporations such as Sony will try to snuff out the competition by editing Wikipedia entries; with such a vivid Internet, it comes as no surprise to me when the community discovers such unethical behavior.

Apparently, someone over at Sony Corporation's Liverpool offices decided it was necessary to edit the Wikipedia entry for Halo 3, a game exclusive to Microsoft's Xbox gaming console, altering a quote from an article in the March edition of Time Magazine, page 56.

The quote added:

QUOTE
Halo 3, the third game in the best-selling Xbox game franchise Halo (video game series), is a highly anticipated under development by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 and is expected to "set a new high water mark" for History of video game consoles (seventh generation)|next-generation games, Although it wont look any better than Halo 2.

Particularly, the quote, "Although it wont look any better than Halo 2," raised the red flag. Wikipedia entries are usually known as an unbiased source for information.

Maxconsole.net, investigating the matter, discovered the editor's IP address, 217.18.23.2, belonged to Sony's offices in Liverpool. One has to question whether or not this is a standard practice for Sony, or if it was just an ignorant, and now unemployed, employee.

The edit was not from the Halo 3 entry, as some have stated, but rather the Halo (series) Wikipedia entry, and was discovered using WikiScanner, a program used to sniff out edits on Wikipedia.

The edit has since been reverted, and the page is currently locked from any further edits.

did sony even massacared Jews in Germany while back? Holy cow.

its bad enough the companies are clawing each other, but to drive consumers to 'help' them on this matter?its like watching wrestling, just let the wrestlers do thier stuff while we sit and enjoy the show wink.gif

and sony is dirt poor. they can ONLY edit wiki entries..LOL Come on Sony!!! People buy exclusives, not edit wiki entries, that waay to lame..Lolz.
stupid too, they make games but dont know how to use proxy IPs and the person who edited it dont even realize that his career might end there for those few words....LOLz..and MS is so good since they didnt sue Sony for the blantant remark wub.gif
