This i sa bit late but lol... QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Sep 4 2007, 10:44 PM) anyone knows any software that allows u to use your plain pc keyboard to play music through a sofware...i mean like playing an organ. i'm not looking for composing software where u write up the music notes. i'm looking for piano/organ program. Ahaha I've recently installed a program that allowed me to get the PC keyboard to work like a MIDI keyboard. But it's all in the name of fun, you can't play serious stuff on it. xD If you have a music keyboard that comes with a MIDI output, I would suggest you use that. For software piano/keyboard modelers, there are plenty, depending on your needs. toby.c13, what's your rig like? And what do you wanna play?

i use a program called OMB (one man band), cost US$30 i think.. can play using pc keyboard. use fn keys for basic chords & qwerty for melody, like qwerty for white keys & number for black keys... generally can play live la but not as easy as playing on a musical keyboard. the program also allows for usange with external midi keyboard & u can play just like normal keyboard (left hand for chord, right hand for melody). the good thing about it is that u can find & use all those yamaha styles all over the net. no need to buy real yamaha keyboard la

Why not get the Creative Prodikeys??? It has very little keys, but enough for fun play and it comes with great software, and you can also do record, etc. The USB version is cheaper around less than RM200, but the software is great. You can open midi files and it can show you the NOTES and KEYS, and also lessons to help you play. It's very cool software. You can also change the TEMPO of the song so you can learn it slowly. This feature (learning feature) is available in high end Digital Piano, but now you can have it in this Creative Prodikeys. This post has been edited by Andy214: Jan 29 2008, 04:43 PM
