QUOTE(k!nex @ Jun 2 2021, 09:00 AM) Lower spec PC ? Last week I went lowyat plaza , wanted to get a whole rig. Itemized quote for a Zotac GTX1650 non Super is RM1349. Such a dumb ass card also so expensive. In 2019 , i remember i bought a GTX1660Ti which is at least twice as fast for RM1199. Really tak boleh pakai wan if buy DIY these days. Really? DIY and custom build used to make us PC master race back in the days. Guess times have changed.

Normal GPU prices were like this GTX 1650 - 600-700 GTX 1650S - 750-850 GTX 1660 - 850-1000 GTX 1660S - 1000-1200 GTX 1660 Ti - 1199-1299 RTX 2060 - 1199-1399 RTX 3060 Ti - 1899-2099 RTX 3070 - 2399-2899 RTX 3080 - 3299-3899 RTX 3090 - 7300-8000 Just boycott them and buy from prebuilts like Acer, HP and Dell. Don't have a choice.

Don't have a choice. This is all the fault of crypto miners. Can consider RTX3080 Ti since the performance is very close to that of RTX 3090. The only problem would be stock availability and scalper's.

The only problem would be stock availability and scalper's. Let me join in the bandwagon. Ordered my R12 with 3060Ti on May 10 and it has not gone into production as of today. Estimated delivery date is still June 26. So I guess I’ll need to wait. As for shortage, semicon shortage plays a big role in this as well. This post has been edited by wookp: Jun 2 2021, 04:24 PM

From my experience, their tracker is not entirely precise or reliable. Nothing much can be done besides playing the waiting game. The US vs China trade wars partially to be blamed for the shortage.

Just noticed this thread. My order has been delayed once (31 May to 10 June). Supposed to ship out today 5th June but still stuck in production. Not having much hopes for it to arrive...
Order placed 18 April and went in production on 8 May.

Fingers crossed, they don't delay the shipment another month +

When I bought Sales Rep specifically told me to avoid 3080 and 3090 if I can't wait very long for delivery, thankfully I wanted either a 3060Ti or 3070 anyways. Ordered on 28 May, will update when I get it.

Dell is unscrupulous. Just watch Gamers Nexus youtube videos.
I even experienced it first-hand. Bought a laptop in 2018 with megabit ethernet where gigabit ethernet was already commonplace in 2018. My bad for overlooking this. But megabit ethernet in 2018 is unacceptable. Even the wifi on the laptop is faster than ethernet. What was Dell thinking??? They are obviously cutting corners just so they can squeeze every last dime out of us.
Not to mention their proprietary motherboard and components practices are just plain unscrupulous.

However it has become one of the better choice in times like this. We don't have other reliable custom builder. I asked a couple of them, like Viewnet and Brightstar computers, all of them have a fixed bundled (i.e. giving you 3070 GPU but other cheap branded parts).

Sadly true, in times like these, system integrators are the only viable way to go if one needs a gaming system right now.
