http://www.hotstar.com/my/activate

So i just activasted my sony tv x90h via the site above shared by juzmafia and now finally really enjoying disney plus right on tv (no need cast from my iphone)

Spend 5 mins testing all the things here and for RM 18 per month I'm overwhelmed.

First i get all the tamil channels lol including those from Star India

There's also a Premium option and I can watch GAME OF THRONES!, Mare of Easttown, and so many tv series which i thought wasnt under Disney's stable.

There's also sports channel (My mum now watching French Open live) and lots of shows on EPL though no live ones for now.

QUality wise looks good and 4k is available for certain streams i believe.

Below is stream from Kingsman GOlden Circle only 1080p

This one is Wandavision at 4k with 5.1 surround

And this one is shot from EPL show (1080p)

My 2cts. I'm sold. expect stuff to be upgraded further and for RM 18 (way cheaper than my previous Astro RM 140), it meets 95 percent of my list. I hope they dont increase the price and continuing to upgrade the quality and stuff though to me right now its definitely watchable and I would not want to double the price just to get that 5-10% extra image quality.

How on earth did you manage to get the India stream?

Even if I try to use VPN on my phone or browser, the Indian login page ask for an Indian phone number to login; so I can't connect through a VPN and login there like I would do for netflix.

Plus, the most of the Tamil programmes are the current ones, which you can actually still get from Astro on Demand of Astro Go. Damn annoying!

The most annoying part is that you have to use your phone number each time you want to login. I usually use the browser to login as my TV does not support apps.

Other region disney+ allows you login with a email, but not the Malaysian version.

Malaysian Hotstar thought we live on tree, boycott

Nak boycott pun tak boleh, I got it through astro. So I am stuck with it. And no, I can't cancel astro because others at home still use astro for other content. cry.gif

Disney+ here is more like Amazon Prime: its not pricey, a few good/great shows, and that it.

I believe can as i've tried into India. Got many cricket game but none for football. But it troublesome as the app recognize you're in different region hence need to clear data n catche before you log out. Need to do this each time you use other region as our are using phone number as log in ID.

How did manage to use the VPN on the app? I tried with both India and Indonesia servers, but the app keeps telling "you are offline, check your internet connection". I did clear the cache as I usually do with netflix.

Nope, stuck with it forever, its part of the astro movie package. Just like HBO Go.

It interchangeable and depending on IP address.

I just download in.startv.hotstar from US amazon AppStore, access with US VPN, it shows Tamil and Hindi contents (no disney). Access with  Malaysia IP will show local contents.

India IP is the best, they have HBO stuff.

What VPN do you use? I can't seem to get it to work if I connect with VPN. It just says " you are offline".

On phone? Some apps will give this error, Stitcher app for example. Nothing we can do except to setup VPN on the router level. But if it on PC or TV, try a different provider.

Just now successfully access and stream India contents (before this can only browse their catalog, try to stream will get a proxy error).

Make sure already log in to a browser (no need for VPN). Connect VPN on TV, open the Hotstar app and click login and follow the instructions. Done.

In my testing, we can't never able to login directly to India app as it will ask for Indian phone numbers.
Thanks for the feedback. I am using PC browser. As you said, if you connect the VPN and go to hotstar website, they prompt you to login with an Indian number.

However, if login through the browser and then only connect with VPN, do I go to hotstar/in or hotstar/my? Because if I go to the former, it still ends up asking me for an Indian number while in the latter, it just get stuck and does not open anything.

Any suggestions?
