Yes. Agree with Bro. slimey. There is water seeping into your wall. The paint discoloration and mold growth confirms that. You'll need to find out where the water seepage source is. Fix it, then repaint the wall.

It would help if you can give more information on the wall. Interior? Exterior? Location ? (bathroom, bedroom, etc) Do you know what is behind the wall (i.e. are there piping? ) The room behind the wall? (bathroom, toilet, outside garden)

Water is seeping from behind the wall. Source unknown. Could be the piping, could be water from shower from the bathroom, could be other source. You will have to find out. For the meantime awaiting repair you can wipe down the wall with a wet cloth. The mold comes off easily. Be warn ya, leaks do not go away by itself. You will have to fix it. Else it will grow into a monster problem (electricity trips, damaging foundation, etc). If that wall is on the first floor (i.e. not ground floor) it becomes even more crucial.

QUOTE(katijar @ May 31 2021, 09:49 AM) It will take some time for workers to come to fix the wall leakage, how should i clean the mold first now? The height of the leak starts from the top ... most likely a possibility of a wall shower head connection. Unscrew and roll some white tape to stop the leak.As for the wall, use water and brush. |

Investigate where is the leakage and then repair that first..
If you just repair this side of the wall, it will not be long term. |

QUOTE(mini orchard @ May 31 2021, 01:34 PM) If you notice the picture, the leak starts from above human head when standing. The higher wet point is not necessarily the starting point. The water absorbed up like osmosis. The most damp location is the likely point. Looking at the tile as scale, the height is about sink or toilet flush location I think. That would be the first place to check. |

this is mold infestation.. spray bleech or vineger on the wall and let it soak.. do a few times then wash the wall...
leave it few days and repeat if still grow after 1 week. Permanently solve this by putting new oil based gloss coat. The oil based paint will not allow water to seep onto the wall.. |

QUOTE(slimey @ Jun 1 2021, 09:29 AM) One must try all cheaper possibilties b4 hacking the wall. Leaking is not an easy problem to solve. Sometimes is obvious and can be rectified easily. If the wall plastering is with bad cement rendering, it will not leak outside the wall. Is definite internal leaking of the piping connections. Try those can be seen. Those hidden, no choice have to hack. This post has been edited by mini orchard: Jun 1 2021, 09:46 AM |

Don't waste time trying to patch things up. The only permanent solution is to hack open the wall to reveal the root cause of it.
