Mac OS has had Asian Language support for the longest time. It was Windows that required add-on and what not to input Chinese. Here is a rundown of dates the Asian language kits were implemented on Mac OS 7.

Safari didn't used to input Asian languages on forums properly. I think the later versions corrected this. But all this time Firefox was capable of Chinese text input.

Just remember to tick the Chinese in Language translations when you're installing Mac OS, or else it won't work, I think biggrin.gif

go to Preferrence on ur dock

then go to International under Personal category

after that go to Input Menu and tick Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese

then you will see an icon on top of your screen, if you would like to fast switching within the languages, add the shortcuts while you were in the Input Menu tab. I customized myself to Apple key+spacebar to switch the languages whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

That only affects whether you can have the UI (system messages, menu titles, etc.) in Chinese.

You can always type in Chinese regardless.
