Funny you might ask.
I joined my current company last year during MCO in April.
Have been WFH since then.
I've only met my boss less than 5 times.

Most Malaysians, you know I know la. Say "working", just show up as online on Slack or Microsoft Teams or whatever caveman era IM tool work uses, then other tablet/computer scrolling FB/Twitter/YouTube. Naisuuuu

EDIT: Remember to move your mouse every 5 mins or use auto clicker so your IM tool doesn't go idle/offline icon_idea.gif

yup... can have been working from home for > 15 months now.. i don't like working from home though but basically not much difference in term off productivity.. i chill whenever i can cause the moment crunch time comes most likely have to work 60 days straight without proper weekend breaks.. i still have datelines to meet.

For backend, no issue with WFH.

Example.
Reviewing invoices, purchase order, etc, approve or reject.
Insufficient support document, use work phone to contact requester and email them.
The only problem is offline document submission by requester.
Although the online system had been implemented 8 years ago and it is quite convenient and easy to use, I have no idea why many requesters still submit paper forms.
So, still have to go office to collect, scan those forms into system, then back at home and continue to work until 5 pm.

For frontline, there is no chance of WFH.

Never got the opportunity to work from home.

My job is on the operation side. I need to move around in my workplace to check here and there.

Last time I work in 100% office environment, but end up I quit because I feel so bored to be honest working in full office environment.

End up I find a job that mixed with both environments. Office and outside office.

MCO 1.0 ; WFH until around June, then office rotation during RMCO (flexible, can go back to WFH whenever)
CMCO in Oct; WFH
MCO 3.0; all WFH
Lockdown; all WFH

No issues with WFH, company has profits, can sustain >12 months even if no income

Yes, can. Legal related job, with proper planning maybe can wfh half a month.

I think the best is 9 to 10am have a video call with boss, to check on daily task (work alone abit depressing one).

clock out at 7-9pm.

Damn hard especially if wife have to go to office as part of essential service. Meanwhile got a team to run, and 2 toddler, and lots of meeting. Stop sending to daycare and kindergarten.

Luckily i can rely on my team, but working hours really screw up as i need to continue work at night after kids sudah sleep.

Not during my 8mths work with the company I was employed. We all had to come in office still and were asked to wear masks... And a lot of us didn't even wear masks... By 6mths in we heard 2 of our staffs got COVID and no one told us until before CNY...

But that aside, I had been working part-time/freelance at home. In some ways you can say its "WFH" (maybe). Still can get work done just that it's flexi hours only. As long as we submit by deadline it's ok with our bosses and managers lol.

Depends your field I would say, example I'm working in voice recorder field yeah you can remote access via internet as long with internet,

but if client site whatever reason data failure still need drop by recover everything then wait the software department before they do it at office now they're WFH remote in get the job done, whatever they need simply remote office server pull data they need and transfer over to client, plus our internet now unlike old times slow until need few hour to transfer 1gb data

For safe boss ask client issue me a letter attached with my current company letter for me to come and there are no issue for traveling from 1st MCO until now , my experience every road block they don't ask me Much show letter he take a look, and look at my back sit full of tools and let me go also most of the time boss only ask me go die outside the rest stay at home or WFH

Hands down YESSS!!!!!

Loving it too much honestly!

I wish this kind of arrangement will last till next year!!!

More personal time and no issue getting up 10-5mins daily prior to logging in!

And oh! One of the perk is need not spend time and making effort in doing make up and choosing outfits daily. Can just work in Pjs!!!!

Sometimes when i feel like get up earlier to walk to my neighbourhood coffee house to pick up some cuppa and come home to work.

I get most of my work done very quick and efficient. Dont have to deal with office politics and seeing some attention seeker colleagues' face. Love it!

Plenty of time to study at night!!!! Too good!

I work alt WFH. Its been good for me as i dont enjoy travelling to office. The 2 hrs i save from driving, i end up enjoying my time working longer because i am not stress out on the road.

The only draw back when kids at home, it can be challenging. Plus, sometimes meeting office colleague is good to build bond.

Job can fully WFH. Been doing this since last year, but went back office when situation improved, then back WFH again when situation worsen...

personally I'm just super sick and tired of this. I like working in office coz I preferred seeing and working face to face with ppl instead of talking to a monitor.

So to all that keep causing the cases up, fuck u all

Good thing I can nap 5 min if too tired
And refresh. This is something diff than u take a smoke, sit on the couch in office , take a walk, provided ur boss allow u to take such break.

Bad thing, can't differentiate whether u r working or not working because work station just right beside u 24/7, colleagues will have hard time draw a line between office hour and non office hour.

Actually, there's some studies that say wfh actually is more efficient. This is base on work done per time.

Because in asian countries especially, people are judged by the amount of time they spent at work rather than how much work is done. If you finish your work fast, then do nothing for the rest of the day, your boss see already will think you're lazy, but wont have any comments on your colleague who spends the whole day slowly doing the same amount of work you did.

But when wfh, if you finish fast, after that can bukak Netflix baring katil.

Your problem is you choose a job that is too far from your home.
That is your problem.

Don't blame the stress on driving.

Can
Set deadline set deliverables kawtim.
Shop drawings, fab drawings, documentation can be done
Annoying part is the production floor one. Those cannot wfh. But not every production sample will finish everyday anyway. Can alternate in this case.

I been working from home since 3 month ago. To be honest I am like zombie. Never meet people ..meeting...do work...cordinate remotely. It's mentally tiring

So end up slack off. My day begins like these
7am wake up take a good 30 mins shit while reading latest news .
7.30am go out jog got 5 to 6km
8.15am make a protein shake and warm down
8.45am take shower
9.30am open laptop work
12.30pm take lunch for 15 mins then go lie down for 45 mins ( most often cannot lie down...keep thinking of problems at work and then list down the important shit for 2nd half
1.30pm attack those list or create excuses til 4pm
4.00pm ...energy low go have a nap
6.00pm take a walk til about 7
.

This is my life..at night play games watch tv ..repeat the shit..
Food alrwady meal prep so just take out and pump it with gamma radiation...so yeah that is my life

Biggest problem is collegue not so easy to work with....tai chi culture...so many issue get assign to me....til I fed up and no mood

i love it. can brew my morning tea, undisturbed by mindless office chatter, air-cond at comfortable temperature all of which contribute positively to my work. been wfh since oct 2020 and when gyms were open, i would leave at 5.20 to the gym. come back at 8, cook, eat and shower and will still have energy to continue working till about 11. then chill with some netflix. no need to wake up at 5.45am to beat traffic. better rested during the night and able to work longer (and i dont mind it). still able to network for lunch (for my other business). i love it and hope it becomes the new norm.

Also like when you have parents who have no sense of privacy and think you're very free one. It's okay if it is about chores and they're busy as well, but this guy sleeps off half the day and on his phone for the rest. Much worse when your colleagues keep making mistakes/behind on their work and you have to cover for them, when you have to cover your own at the same time, because your seniors think you know everything.

Before MCO I just have to deal with my colleagues, but now I have to deal with both parents and colleagues. It's frustrating. "Spend more time with your family" my buntut lah

I've never had a priviledge to work from home. I heard from my friend it is very difficult to WFH.

In view of total lockdown that will be implemented this tuesday, I wonder whether it is really productive to work from home.
*
Based on my 1 year+ exp wfh since mar'20
It's workable and more productive
no time wasted in travel or trafic
Can play with kids, games and watch tv while doing work
can wakeup late and straight join meeting
Bosses keep finding u and expect response asap even at night
Expected to join all meeting if calendar free
Can finish work fast and play fast...no need to LLB
