i think 9 years of mediocrity has humbled me deeply. To expect a trophy seems like unpossible.
But to not challenge far longer for the league, even if Liverpool comes back strongly this new season, will be sacking for Ole. I expect us to be in contention for the league until the last 3 matches.

Cups, well you meet Liverpool, Chelsea, and MC and it is instantly a coin toss so I won't say too much. But the league is where you build and be consistent, and show it week in week out that you are playing better, having a plan to break down teams who sit deep and counter (Just like Liverpool and MC). I think that's what I want to see and what I expect.

On paper united doesn't look like contender for the past few season.. Even last season before season start dont think people expect united to fin 2nd

This season wt varane sancho on paper we should.. i expect the very least is less concede, more goal and certainly more point than last season. Same goes to UCL expect united to move further maybe the very least last 8

spent big on wrong players & played wrong tactics
players on bench can't make any different when they needed.

wrong player or right, United did spend though.. wrong tactics cant fully blame on the players, they just follow instructions..
players on the bench didnt get the chance to make a difference most of the time.. Europa final last season was a good example

United were leading the table with 11 points gap before Christmas last season.. ended up 2nd with 12 points gap..
and its okay for most people.. standards have fallen really low

Manchester United have cancelled their pre-season friendly with Preston on Saturday after a number of suspected coronavirus cases in their camp.

United were due to travel to Deepdale at the weekend to continue their preparations for the new season, but routine lateral flow testing on Thursday saw some possible positive cases returned. Those people are now isolating, pending further PCR tests.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will have surgery on a shoulder injury next week and faces about three months out.

The 23-year-old has been troubled by the problem for a number of months and felt an operation was the best way of resolving the issue.

United wanted to check but have now agreed to the surgery.

Rashford scored 11 goals in 37 Premier League appearances last season and was in England's squad at Euro 2020.

"Following consultation between Marcus, the manager [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer], club medical staff and specialists, Marcus will undergo surgery imminently to resolve his shoulder injury," said the Old Trafford club.

"He will now focus on his rehabilitation in order to return as soon as possible."

Rashford helped United finish second behind Manchester City in the Premier League last season.

Solskjaer's side also reached the Europa League final but lost to Spanish side Villarreal on penalties.

Rashford made five appearances for England at Euro 2020 but was only on the pitch for a total of 84 minutes and then missed a penalty in the shootout as Italy beat Gareth Southgate's side on penalties in the final.

United start their Premier League campaign at home to Leeds United on 14 August, while England play three World Cup qualifiers in September and two in October.

Get well soon Marcus. We have plenty who can play well on the left to cover him for a while.

Good decision to have the surgery now.
By the time the schedule ramps up in Nov-Dec and injuries come, hopefully he can return at the right time.

Even if Pogba leaves we are unlikely to get Grealish.
City already going with a 100M bid which we will not be able to match.

And Barca offering us Griezmann, I'm not interested at all.
Griezmann smells like another Sanchez.

Griezman missed the boat. I also think we are good at the attacking options we have now.. city likely can get one of two. Kane or grealish i guess unless they sell some

whatever the case, we need a good center forward that can do route 1 heading, finishing and poaching. Cavani is great, don't get me wrong I just can't see him lasting the season.

If possible I don't want to see Martial again, especially the one where he says he needs a run of games, and needs 5 games to get up to form to score 1 goal. And then he will start getting cocky and dribble past the whole defence before shooting straight or wide. Then Ole will pull him out and he will sulk and complain and say why is he not given a chance. I mean we have given him chances since he was 18. He's already what 25? You don't start for your country or at least get selected it really means something.

Hope Marcus can fix whatever is bothering him and come back stronger. We need the top Rashy not last season's one.

With both of these out of sorts we really need some options on the left....

Greenwood can be developed as Cavani's understudy in the number 9 position.
He has good good movement. Left foot. Right foot.

On the left we have a fair amount of options. Rashford, Martial, Sancho, James, Elanga can all play on the left.
