As per topic, I have a friend who's a Malaysian is coming to Malaysia for good, what are the procedure and documents he would need to obtain ?

a malaysian doesn't need any procedures or documents to come back to his home country. just buy a ticket biggrin.gif

If he's a Malaysian and still retains his MY passport and IC, there's zero issue with returning. If it's a matter of giving up his Singapore permanent residency, that's between him and SG authorities, nothing to do with MY side.

I hope his personal reasons are strong ones, because looking at the rate of progress shown by SG vs MY, it's basically the equivalent of moving from Monaco to Zimbabwe.

I wonder why you posted in the Covid thread though. Are his reasons for returning Covid related?

May I also add, advise him to not withdraw his CPF unless he is near retiring age.

Also, keep the bank accounts he has in Singapore.

Does't make much difference. Malaysia retirement age is 60 while Singapore is 63. The point is, if he is still young, it is advisable to maintain the CPF account just in case he wants to go back to work in Singapore one fine day.

Sorry bump old thread, is there a step by step guide on how to pay for quarantine fees in Malaysia ? ( Friend's parents doesn't know how to do it )

Basically for Malaysians, you dont have to pay the admin fee and you dont have to pay in advance.

Come back for what? Stay in sg la sg more advance than in my come back cannot find job also die la MY is backwards.. if i were him i stay in sg better..
