Hi, anyone facing issue connect to waze, iMessage and WeChat? I facing this issue. No problem when connect using WiFi. Using iPhone 11 Pro Max here

It show no network connection but when try safari can load the page can try fast.com no problem

Can’t even connect to speedtest


Update
When I place the sim to iPhone 6 everything normal. Weird

apple not sure..if it is android..device may had been connected to an idling band..and could be apn settings whch were set incorrectly..

maxis line has been deteriorating so badly this few months, can hardly get a good signal much less a proper internet connection speed. Been a customer for over 20 years but this is like the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. Complain a million times to them also no use, MCMC also in the same boat. Need to jump ship but can't decide to which line, all below average to be honest. Need more competition in the mobile space in this country. If China mobile is given a license to operate here, that will really rock the boat on the incumbents. About time the consumer get value for money service instead of being ripped off by this parasitic telcos

I found out the problem, it cause by Volte. I try to toggle on and off/3G and 4G then it work again. Need to repeat this when can’t connect to network. So troublesome

today i try switch to 4G, and use youtube...video stuck at loading round n round icon...

connect home wifi no issue.

Anyone else having this problem? Youtube also cannot load...switch to 144p also seems no help doh.gif

Been Maxis user for many years and lately, the line is really bad. 4G either 2 bar or full but loading is slow. Some areas even small telco like UMobile put Maxis to shame with full 4G signal and certain car basements where Maxis zero. Considering to port to UMobile since nowadays work from home and not really use a lot data and can save some money too.

Yeah. Same issue here. Especially when launch MySJ, maxis full-bar 4G, MySJ never load.

Enable airplane mode, back to normal.

Every time call to 123, getting the same response:
1. Restart phone
2. Share speedtest result, share location
3. No reported case bla.. bla.. bla..

i ported in from UMobile to Maxis over the weekend.

And the experience over just 2 days has been terrible so far.

UMobile is so much better in terms of line/data and network connectivity. I used to be a maxis user for many years and network or data has never been an issue, but whyyyyy now cannot even load basic stuff, fb/ig/youtube/searching webpage/google/maps/playstore/BFM radio! it just keeps spinning.

Absolutely no issue when connect to wifi at home, it loads immediately.

Luckily i did not sign up any package or tied to any contract.

Will port out back from maxshit to UM back again.

UM must be wondering why. LOL.

maxis now soo horrible never felt this bad ever, even their whatapps support dont want to admit..

Today i got fed-up.. and for the fun of it.. turn my celcom prepaid data on... and, walla! all smooth, apps that had problem opening opens smooth, games latency also sooo smooth...
trying to call in for support already near 30 min on hold..

i) Drop calls
ii) unclear calls
iii) talking halfway the other side turn to robotic voice

anyone having such issue

I think it’s related to VoLTE, I have other telco also frequent drop call

Oh really ? Cause I usually when there’s a network issue i call maxis corporate they say refresh my network and reboot then everything seems back to normal

Ya....network reset only done at your end, at phone setting>reset>network reset
The agent lucky your network bk normal after goreng when u restart or toggle airplane mode

I started noticing this issue lately — some websites will load just fine, but some would not at all. So it got me curious, and I did a DNS query on those websites that would load and those that wouldn't. Those that would load have IPv6 address in addition to IPv4 address. Those that wouldn't load only have IPv4 addresses, but NOT IPv6.

So in my browser, I went to WhatisMyIP. Sure enough, for those websites (with only IPv4) that I couldn't load, WhatisMyIP is reporting that my phone only has IPv6 address, no IPv4 address. When I'm at certain location, my phone was able to obtain an IPv4 address, but the BIG problem is at many locations around the city (KL) my phone only seems to have IPv6 address.

Turning off and on Airplane Mode does not help. I called Maxis support and they even tried turning off and on Public IP for my line, and that also did not help. The only thing that helped in this situation is to turn ON Apple's iCloud Private Relay (BETA). With it turned on, I'm able to browse to any websites. So if you have an iPhone and running iOS 15.2. Try that.

I have also reported my findings to Maxis Support this afternoon. They said they will escalate my report to the backend technical team to look into this.


Update (13/1/2022): Someone from Maxis called me, and said that he managed to nail down the cause of the issue and pushed through the solution for me. So far, it's been working well again for me. If any of you still have an issue, I suggest that you give Maxis' customer helpline a call. They may just have the solution for you.

Oh yeah, the Apple Private Relay feature is only available to Apple's iCloud subscribers. In any case, it's not a perfect solution; it only helps with Safari and Mail app. All other apps, like your eWallet app, MySejahtera, etc, would still rely on Maxis' IP routing.

In the end, Maxis really needs to get their act together on this issue.

Maxis is really the worst network. Every since they started unlimited family data. The whole network hasn’t recovered since. Full 4g can’t use internet until turn airplane mode on and off. Happening since 2019, I must have made almost 300 complaints and they insisted it was my iPhone problem and maxis don’t support iPhone kok.

Switched to DiGi and haven’t had a single problem since

Either will do to get Safari & Mail to work. They are just different levels of privacy protection.

Bear in mind, this is really just a quick fix to get you browsing again. You’ll find that if you use other apps that need to connect to a server that only has an IPv4 address, e.g. eWallet apps, etc, it will still not work. As an aside, streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, etc do not have issues as they can happily connect to their servers via IPv6.

A more permanent solution is to call Maxis’ Technical Dept to get them to sort it out for you. Good luck!
