I am on a tight budget but maybe it's time to buy a new PC.

Please give me your advice
Should I:
1) Change the motherboard (same one)
2) Change the CPU
3) Change motherboard and CPU (same ones)
4) Keep whatever parts are salvageable ( Ram, PSU, maybe GPU) and build a new PC
5) Get a new whole new PC for a good price ( suggestions?)

This is my PC:
Zalman tower gs1200
Nvidia GeForce gtx 670 (aug 2005)
PSU corsair tx850m
Corsair Vengence pro ddr3 1600mhz 8gb x2, 4gb X2 ( 24 gb total)
motherboard Asus p8z77-v pro (2012)
intel i7 3770k @ 3.5 GHz overclocked
Dual 32" monitors
Samsung evo ssd
Windows 7 pro

So the last few days I'm having trouble with my PC. It was staying stuck in sleep mode. After a reset, it would go as far as the Windows Logo and then go to a black screen. I couldn't even access BIOS.

After resetting the bios by pulling the CMOS battery I managed to get it to boot up normally and it worked fine for the day but my video card was no longer detected.

From my few online searches I guess the motherboard or CPU is faulty. But maybe it's something else I don't know.

My PC is from 2012 but I really like it and can't really afford to replace it unless I can get a decent deal on a similar one ( and hopefully lighter because I may move to another country with it) .

I've never built a PC before but I was thinking I can either buy the same motherboard (RM 465) and see if it solves my problem. Or should I buy both the board (RM 465) and CPU (RM 628) ? Or just buy a different board and CPU (recommendations?) [ Also note: The onboard sound card and a few USB outlets stopped working a few years ago. And the power button often sticks.

if you can throw 465+628 at 9 years old tech, might as well use those to buy i3 10105f + decent mobo + 8gb ddr4 ram. you have latest tech, better performance. just my RM0.20

I dont think that new i3 with 8gb will run anything like my 9 yr old i7 and 32 gb.

u mean ur system now more fast than i3 10100f?

not much difference in terms of the CPUs but a PC is more than just a CPU. With the applications I have running it would never handle 8gb of ram especially on window10

Did you tried plugging your video card to the other pcie slot?

1 or 5 would be more feasible depending on what you want to achieve (save cost or replace new).

But getting a 2nd hand overclockable motherboard that can sustain
the speed well would be hard to find nowadays esp for lga1155

The Intel Core i7 3770K is known to be the fastest LGA 1155 CPU, 4 core processor with 8 threads.

Today my computer is working like normal. Even using my old GPU. The only issue left is my sound card. The onboard one stopped working a long time ago. Bu the one i have plugged in also not detected. I bought a new replacement sound card and that not detected either. I tried in both slots. Maybe I have to get USB sound card or something.

I am also back at old BIOS not sure if i should risk updating it via USB

Your i7 is antique, new i3 is far far better than it.

They is nothing forever the best. Wake up! and stop day dream your i7 still the best and beat the rest.

I never said that. Obviously, if have the cash to through at a pc It would be a different story. I would get a brand new PC.
i cant just get a new i3. I would need a new mobo, new ram new everything. Like come on. Im trying to salvage what I have. My processor is not even my current issue, so buying a new i3 is useless advice basically.

You can try fixing parts as it breaks down, but wouldn't that affect your productivity?

Set aside some funds and make the upgrade.

Great idea but in the meantime I need a working computer.
