I've been throttled at 900KB/s per TCP connection for CDN hosted content like github (Microsoft Github, you'd think the CDN was local!) and anything outside the country (yes, even Singapore) goes at ISDN speeds. This has been going on since October when I submitted a complaint about bad routing for FF14 which "got better" after a month when they introduced the insane caps.

Since then I've been putting in reports until December when they finally gave up playing nice with the almost daily calls for speedtest/pingplotter results and finally replied to my complaints new and old with "not our problem, best effort":
Is there any way to get the MCMC involved in this? (doubtful)

what the is the github ip or hostname you connecting ??

only the way solved the issue is switch ISP or use VPN by pass

TM will not solved this pro-longed international link issue , even fixed for awhile the issue still will persistent and they wont bother anymore even you feedback to them.

Maybe email YB Fahmi Fadzil directly? His email address is on his official website. No idea if it will help or not though, since we don’t know if him or his staff even read them.

As long as TM can legally hide behind that “best effort” clause in your contract’s T&C, you cannot do anything apart from changing provider. Only regulatory body or government/minister got power over them. Make noise on twitter or write to soyacincau no use one.

Change to Maxis.
I have had it with Unifi shit international throttling every night on Unifi Air before fibre came to my area.
Now no more headache thanks to Maxis Fibre.

I think it is compulsory now that everyone has a private Malaysia VPN server.

Any cheap Malaysia vps that allow vpn usage recommended? (below rm15 per month or rm150 per year)

'Malaysia' and 'cheap' doesn't go hand in hand. I have a couple though in shinjiru and icore.

One thing i noticed when gamming. If you use more data the internet is responsive. If you use less less responsive.

This might be CPU set to Auto on tm site.

Oracle cloud does not have region-malaysia,i already have SG region. (But the server is use for idle only) tongue.gif
And also Oracle cloud free tier might ban account randomly with small possibility.

I already have multiple vps in singapore, but i looking for very cheap MY vps to idle for vpn or future usage.

And last night OVH SG also got spike.... bangwall.gif
Private peering also like this...Unifi connectivity really crappppp.....

Recently switched to IVPN (previously using Mullvad). They have a 1GBps MY server hosted on TheGigabit. So far so good. But I don’t think it’s cheap to rent your own instance from TheGigabit though (IVPN itself is already one of the more expensive VPN providers).

For SG, IVPN’s SG M247 servers take the Level3 route instead of PCCW. A lot better than M247-PCCW. Sometimes I double-hop entry-SG/exit-MY also quite good.

Previous page on this thread I posted comparison of PCCW vs Level3 during our peak-hour koyak time;

Look like DNS burst sharp on 0 AM, yesterday and today, certain IP only, hmm...

But the TCP works, just UDP, ICMP and DNS getting blocked, like 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1, while 8.8.4.4 and 1.0.0.1 works.

Ping showing respond up to 2(first is router, second is the gateway), if set the TTL to 3 will get no respond as well, but going via TCP works, strange...

Should be Anycast issues?
But why not happen over TCP, hmm...

At it stop at the gateway IP, I guess it only happen to Melaka gateway. hmm.gif
---
Happen to part of 115.132.x.x and 180.x.x.x, fine at 60.50.x.x, hmm... sweat.gif
Wonder what was they tweaking on...
---
Testing more, look more strange, it is a packet drop on opening connection, specially on DNS request, but fine after you success on opening, can get full speed download while having issues on opening connection...
Private IP CGNAT issues? hmm.gif

A few days ago I have issue downloading files from US server. Seems like speed capped at 20kbps. Should be waiting for 7 hours-9 hours to finish that.

So fed up, I create a private repo github, change remote origin, push at my github and git clone back at new server. Haha. Settle 500mb files within 2-3 minutes.

I didnt tried change DNS at that time, but some websites that really slow will become faster when using WARP Cloudflare for example.

Hmm, but my case is another issues la, guess TM do something wrong on CGNAT or something, because the issues only happen on UDP and it is jumping around different IP address/server.
1 up, another down, reconnect PPPoE fixed it, but it will move to another server.

Can be my router, but I don't think my router can broken sharp on 0 AM while fixed by reconnect the PPPoE lol.
Because the ping failed at route 2 or route 3(10.233.97.55), not route 1, so it means something happen on TM side, and they still not found it at least 2 days which happen sharp at 0 AM. doh.gif

Guess something overload the CGNAT etc and it happen. sweat.gif

Only thing I can do is wait TM found it morning and fix it, as I changed many IP still the same.
Even when it is fine for DNS IP address, it will still fail/drop randomly on DNS request....
All of it, 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1, better give up and sleep then. doh.gif
---
For github, yes, it is a issues on Microsoft side, the download speed is slow when there is connection issues on Azura to Azura, also a few days ago, azura down too. tongue.gif
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34515566

2023, still going wrong on CDN to origin, for example, when I using Huawei backup, MY or SG WARP will not works, but AWS can upload in full speed with high latency. sweat.gif

Also yes, Taobao now have server running on MY and SG, well, it is another CDN to origin issues, certain Taobao service unable to serve during CNY, until they fixed it yesterday, and it is already end of CNY event....
Still, 2023 year, the best is still connect to HK CDN to origin, so it will not fail so easily for back to origin, while TM to HK can also hold a good connection too doh.gif
