Hi all,

I bought this module and try to set it up: https://shopee.com.my/%E3%80%90Ready-Stock%...6187.8431585812

But I have an issue, where the S1 on the smart switch I connect to my light switch L. So now, my light switch "L" always has power (it shows power when i place my test pen to it), even when the switch is still off.

My light switch has one connector labeled "COM" and one "L".
So for normal connection, the "COM" usually is connect to the LIVE that comes directly from the MCB in the DB box. And the "L" on the light switch is connect to the light wire. So when I switch it on, then the "L" will have power (test pen will show light), and when I switch it off, then the "L" will have no power (test pen won't show light).

What did I do wrong ar?

try to draw a simple diagram of how you did the wiring

So you are using a normal 1 way switch together with a 2 way tuya staircase switch..

Your wiring diagram is correct.

However what probably happened in practical terms is:
Without the tuya, the original switch as a 1way could have been wired wrongly on the L1 and com as technically it doesnt matter on the original wiring (make or break) whether L1/COM or COM/L1. It always work regardless of which way the bangla installed it.

Ignoring the tuya, U need to CONFIRM the so called COM and L1 are correctly labelled in the first place by checking which one is "hot" at the original 1way switch's cables

Because simply put, the idiota that wired it in the original 1way switch could have mixed up the L1/COM and COM/L1 assignment (like sticking kancil roadtax on ferrari and vice versa) but the light will work (sans tuya).

Now that the tuya is more complicated, ie it has an [always on] and also [rely on switched sense] terminals: based on what u described- the [always on] terminal of tuya is getting switched off by the position of 1way switch i.e. 1way_true_L1? (the expectation of ferrari performance per ferrari roadtax was actually hampered by kancil engine in reality), and the [S1_tuya is a sense terminal] but always ON meaning that this is sourcing from 1way_true_COM

Hi,
yeah, i have confirmed that the original 1way switch was wired up correctly. The LIVE wire coming from the DB is directly tap to the COM on the 1way switch. So the diagram that I shown is how it looks like.

I have now moved back the wire from L1 back to the L on the 1way switch and add an addiotional wire to tap to the L on the 1way switch to the L1 and it's working on both manually switching it on/off from the 1way switch as well as it works for controlling it using the TUYA smart switch. The only drawback is that the manual switching on/off will not get sensed by the Tuya smart switch, cuz i left the S1 not connecting to anything. Hence, the Tuya App will not reflect the on/off state when I manually switch on/off on the 1way switch. Not a big deal. Cuz all i want is to be able to control it from the tuya app. I seldom will manually switch on/off from the 1way switch from now on.

Unless somebody here knows how to resolve that small issue....
