KJ:Approval already have been given for Penang to directly buy from SinoVac Manufacturer. Have u ever talk to SinoVac before making accusation? U buy it from China & bring it in. Any problem u can contact me or make a PC out of it.

PS: Sinovac have already been given approval by NPRA to be imported, so what Penang are still waiting for? Btw, no where in KJ statement that said Penang need to deal with Pharmaniaga.

GEORGE TOWN: Vaccine minister Khairy Jamaluddin today said state governments are free to buy vaccines from companies yet to be engaged by Putrajaya.

He said the states are free to negotiate with drug makers Moderna and Sinopharm, whose vaccines have been approved by the World Health Organization.

At a press conference here, Khairy said that as long as the vaccines have been given the green light by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, the states are free to procure them.

Khairy said states which wanted to buy vaccines that are already in use such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac would have to wait until the federal government receives all the doses it ordered.

“There is no block or monopoly by the federal government. Please do not say we are blocking. You are free to buy after we finish our orders. If states want to negotiate with (vaccine makers) of the likes of Moderna or Sinopharm, go ahead, we can facilitate from the federal level,” he said.
