Hi Guys,

The stock blaupunkt radio player in my proton preve already died, need a new replacement ASAP

Any idea what brand to get? not really looking for android player as most people suggest, just need something simple that is much modern than my current model


thinking of getting a blaupunkt player as well, but out of 5 car accessories shop i went to, all dont sell that brand

if you just need basic feature such as radio only then get some old school 2nd hand 1 din players. Lots of people selling now as they changing to android. Should cost only like RM50-RM80.

If you want something better, next would be mp5 players. These are like android with touch screen but it's not running android. It just have it's own interface for simple stuffs like radio, playing mp3 & mp4, bluetooth phone also can. These cost around RM100 only.

wait,my car need double din player...i can go for 1 din player, but worried the shop didnt have the casing for it

most shop that sells it are out of klang valley

why u dont want use android player ? i think now should be quite cheap. around 200-300 including installation which i think more cheaper than blaupunkt model.

200 300? All d shop i went to the cheapest were 450++, and not the size i wanted 😅

Why not change to android player that is more feature rich? Got lots of options to get casing and install the newer Android player.

Preve Android Player Casing

My wife's car is using an android player (4gb RAM/32gb ROM) mounted on compatible casing. Overall very satisfied with the purchase. An actual upgrade over the stock unbranded player that was gonna die. Steering control buttons all still can be used after some programming by the installer.

Just my 2sen.

using nakamichi brand now. bought for 650 with installations.. so far working fine.. been 2 years..

I am looking to replace my suprima headunit but prefer branded ones like sony or jvc or kenwood which has native support for carplay and android auto, any recommendations?

i found some shop advertise in fb, around 300 include installation. but the spec might not that good like 1GB ram only.

how much u bought for this 4GB ram ?

As I have not tried carplay or AA, I would like to know what is the reason some people want it when the player is already android? You can pretty much install everything you need for car into the HU, right?

Another question is, what about mirror function? I know it's a bit different to carplay/AA but is that good enough or mirroring have other problems?

Back to TS question, there are also 2 din old players that people are selling. Try looking or even ask the shops. Some should have them when customers upgrade.

Price was 680 exactly 2yrs ago..... no DSP/TA coz I was not interested in all those, just want a "pure" deck/player with basic tuning. Casing was another 95 or so and installation charge was only 50. Luckily paid the 50bucks as the process and amount of work is more than worth it.

is it truly 4G ram? last 2 years quite hard to find this spec.
im still looking, those got some brand still expensive even for those low spec.
quite cheap for the installation. most i found is rm100.

As with android phones, they only last 2-3 years before starting to lag and freeze, whilst the branded ones with AA/Carplay will never experience that since its not android based

If you don't upgrade the OS and install junks in the car android then it should last as long as it is working. It should not slow down.

Also, what apps do you install in the HU. Only things like waze and spotify and a few car related apps. If you take care not to install unneeded stuffs then it should last long.

However, true with the AA/Carplay get "upgrade" each time you change phone. Understand now. Thanks.

just install JVC KW-M150BT and the steering button wont work with it properly

already set it, but it will suddenly missing or not functioning properly in between function (bluetooth, pendrive, radio)

As per Droid Info app, it is 4GB/32GB as claimed. Transitioning between apps is very smooth.

Recently added reverse camera thru DIY, transition in Android and at firmware during booting is flawless.

Worth every sen, value for money.

Chief may I ask where did you get it done and what brand?
