I just want to share this so nobody else repeat my mistake.

I made this mistake. I was so dumb. But i dont want other people to repeat my mistake therefore i shared it here.

previously i dont have a phone because my phone is broken long time ago n its just not worth to fix because its a very old phone (probably wont work anymore now due to outdated OS etc) but im lucky that my fren lend me her phone. then I decided to save money n buy iphone 12 since last year.

then the day comes, i finally got the money. i thought maybe i should buy at Machines physical shop but then there is deal at Shopee Mall, RM200 off. and i was tempted!
When i check the profile it is sold by official machine shop in Shopee Mall. No doubt its a legit Machines shop in shopee. before i buy i read review, seems all good.

then i placed order, got it in 2 days. so fast!
when i open box, their iphone is badly wrapped with a thin bubble wrap but its ok because when i checked, nothing bad happens to the phone.

then i chat with the Machine shopee store. i asked for a receipt.
I need the receipt because it is for my tax return and i also not sure if there is something that happen in the future maybe i need the receipt also even tho people said u can claim a warranty without receipt. i think anything else can happen that might require receipt so i need the receipt for just precaution.

its also the reason why i dont want to buy a secondhand phone because although the phone is new, good condition n very cheap but if anything happen in future i cannot prove that i purchased tis item.

i asked for receipt first time on 6 may 2021, they told me 3-5 working days will receive it on email so its okay i can wait.
then i asked again on 15 may 2021 because its already 5 working days (included 2 days off from Raya).
they said will check for me. today i asked again on tuesday 18 may and there is no response.

the seller profile said chat performance 100% so i thought they should reply chat fairly fast. but apparently its not. when i chat with them i usually get reply after many hours and that is after i send them to chat again.

at this point i thought lets just let it go, RM200 maybe its for the fact i will not get receipt. in the future anything happens i just pay full price. maybe i take the RM200 discount as my tax return that i will never get.

but if i know about this i would buy at normal price in physical Machines shop just so i can get the receipt and good service. Maybe receipt is not a big thing for some people out there but for me its quite important although not the most important. The receipt is the reason why i dont want to buy secondhand phone no matter how cheap it is.

when i check the review again, apparently some ppl get the receipt. for some reason i don't get it. so its still like a gamble. you might get good service and might not.
after all, you saved ~rm200. maybe u can expect to be treated badly because of the discount?

the lesson here is dont cut corners. don't be tempted with the discount from online shops. you might get good service and you might not get good service.
but for the deal, save only few hundred, it is not worth it. If you just want to buy a charger or earphone okay to buy from online. but if u buy phone that cost thousands, just spend the more money and buy at trusted physical shop.

my point is also because u never know what will happen when u buy online. then if something happen, possibly no one will help you as well.
depends on your luck. you might get help you might not. for my case, maybe they think receipt so small no need to give customer. maybe they think im so nosy to ask receipt. But this is my problem and when i asked SHopee customer service they also cannot help me at all.

for me i think receipt should be given without buyer ask for it. you buy grocery, buy food, buy clothes u always get receipt. it make sense if u buy electronic that costs few thousands u want to get receipt also. but its weird that they dont give in the first place and when customer ask they also dont give.
but, this is what online shopping is. you save money but you dont know what will happen. you might be lucky n get all good, or u might be unlucky and get all bad like me.

if i can turn back the time, i rather pay full price n buy at machines physical shop.

so that is all my sharing session. im not posting here looking to resolve matter or point finger here n there. i know its my mistake to be fooled by cheap price n i already let go. in the future if anything happens n require receipt i take full responsibility.

thanks for reading icon_rolleyes.gif

UPDATE
Someone told me i can lodge complaint to the Malaysian ministry of trade, so i did.
After i lodged a complaint, i told the Machines shopee shop that I sent a complaint to ministry and they immediately give me my receipt.
Even tho my problem is solved but i still dont recommend anyone to buy iPhone or any other Apple device from Machines at Shopee Mall. It took a complaint to govt to get my receipt, says a lot about their service.

Please think twice or thrice before you fall for the discount from the Shopee Machines store. Really, the bad service not worth the discount.

Have you tried reaching to Machines via email? I know their response time is a little slow, about 2-3 working days per reply, but perhaps you can get an answer directly.

Thing is, alot of brands do not ‘personally’ manage these official stores, they employ 3rd party to manage these platforms therefore you won’t get a like for like service - but they should have attended to your request.

Don’t give up, escalate this matter to Shopee, Machines social pages or email because it’s your right to demand for a receipt, regardless of a big or small purchase.

Cheers!

Don't know. I buy from lazada never have any problem, using official store also.

Bought from asus, Samsung and xiaomi before. They send to me with cushion foam and airbag. It was a rm700 phone.

Apple overrated. Premium price is not even a premium product

I know someone personally who had been audited by LHDN. Just a screenshot of Lazada/Shopee completed order would suffice.

Yes this is actually a basic purchase document that should be given without anyone asking especially if you buy electronic that costs thousands.
i also sometimes buy phone case, screen protector very cheap still they give me receipt. This i bought RM3600 , even when i asking they wont give me.
my problem is actually quite a small problem but i imagine if other ppl got bigger problem (bad batch in their device etc) , they might have hard time because their customer service never reply unless you keep ping them every 30mins.

I suggest you use the hard way to deal with these type of people. Just threaten them that you will report them to KPDNHEP if they don't provide you the receipt.

Soft doesnt work, then try this if they still dont provide.

But goverment website so in Malay haha if tak faham malay then a bit susah.
