 Bad experience with Harvey Norman

I've bought a dining table + 6 chairs cost RM4.2k from Harvey Norman, this is my first time and also my last time to buy anything from Harvey Norman! bruce.gif

I've purchase the item on 27 March 2021, and expected to be delivered on 17 April.
But they always last minutes call me and reschedule the delivery date.
First time - 16 April reschedule to 29 April
Second time - 27 April reschedule to 7 May
Third time - 5 May reschedule to 11 May

But I received the chairs on 29 April, unfortunately, one of the chair not in good condition, I've reported to the delivery driver immediately, he also agreed that, and helped me made the report.
and then I also sent the video to the sale-man at the same time, but after few days, Salesman told me that from my video can't see any problem, and ask me BRING THE CHAIR MYSELF go to the store to claim.

Even though they promised to be delivered on May 11th, but I received the dining table on May 12th 7pm. Unfortunately, I did not check the condition of table in detail during delivery, I found there is a stone chip in the next day morning and reported to the sale-man, now I'm still waiting his feedback. But I guess they will just simply reject me and close case.
between, I guess the delivery guy not from Harvey Norman. he is very rushing, no uniform and unprofessional, put the table down, take a picture and leave. not even giving me the order slip to sign.

Besides that, I've commented on their Facebook page, every time they will comment on the post ask to pm them, but they never reply my pm.

So disappointed with their service and feel so sad, RM4.2k buy a cacat product.

I think even if you tell them got stone chip during delivery they would ignore and tell you to file with the company.
That's not just Harvey Norman. Pretty much most if not all furniture shops are like that.
Scratches and chips are considered too small to return

Last time they cater mainly to the upper class and service is good. But their business model unsustainable due to high cost and everywhere else cheaper. They break down their operation and outsource the delivery. If I'm not mistaken, they do not have a central logistic handler. Every branch have their own logistic provider so their staff pakat outside delivery man and you get monkeys (depending on branch).

Which branch did you made your purchase?

hmmmmph....

i bought fridge. already arranged 2 weeks in advance.

the day before delivery, he said transport will whatsapp me to arrange. told him, i don't use whatsapp.

on delivery day, i have to keep calling salesperson, asking where is the delivery. he keep saying he himself cannot get hold of delivery man.


another instance earlier this year; i asked Queensbay, how much is it to upgrade laptop from built-in 4GB to total 8GB. Salesperson said add another 4GB stick is RM2xx.

Luckily that already went Komtar beforehand; 4GB stick is just RM1xx.

They have delayed almost 1 month, the reason he gave is "We at Harvey Norman do our best to make sure ur product on Good condition with 3 stage of QC.Unfortunately ur unit not pass to delivered on last stage".
This is so call good condition... Haha

You too polite is it? I wouldn't wait even an extra day for an in store purchase with cash that was promised delivery will be made at a predetermined time let alone more than 1 month. I would've escalate it to someone that can make decision instead of going in circle with the bangla salesman. You need to fuck the right person to get things done.

Nowadays viral these kind of thing on social media can get fastest result.

I've posted on their FB page, even show all the evidence. But who care, they still not replying me.
To many complaint on their FB, maybe they are used to it.

Time to dust off your contacts and call your lawyer friend. It's beyond absurd you have to wait this long and gotten a defect in the end.
