Dear sifus, hoping for some help during MCO period... Is this a serious problem and how much would the repair cost ? Or better if I replace with a new aircon altogether?

Likely the discharge pipe is jammed with gels.
DIY job if you want to save cost. Just use your vacuum cleaner and suck them out at the exit of the pipe. Done that myself earlier this year. |

Serviced it and the problem gone. |

The blockage is at the 'mouth' of the drain pan. To clean, you need to remove tbe casing/cover to access it.
If you dont know how, better to call for service. Not necessary to replace ac. This post has been edited by mini orchard: May 17 2021, 09:36 PM |

This one easy job, just open the casing, then u will see the drainage tunnel, most likely it's blockage there.

Or better if I replace with a new aircon altogether? The aircon drain pan is dirty and gel that block the water and flood up.Thanks very much! It is easy DIY by taken the main cover out. You're able to see the drain pan below the condenser with a foam insulation below. |

QUOTE(sgpdsmss @ May 18 2021, 10:14 AM) already installed 6~7 years ..but just happened recently ...after aircond not using more than 6 months .. Leaking along the wall behind the indoor unit is only the 2 places mentioned earlier.need to google how to dismantle casing for brand sharp air-cond You dont need to remove the casing but to tilt the lower part indoor unit outward and support with a plyer of screwdriver. Then you can check the joint and the black insulation whether it completely covered the piping. Btw, if you are not familiar, pls call the repair man. |
