will try, a lot of places don't allow pics to be taken

yea, that's the worst part about petshops, the poor conditions the pets are in. i always see too-young rabbits at pet safari, they look barely 4 weeks and definitely not old enough to be weaned. and the food, sigh.. low quality stuff. worst still, sometimes i don't even see any water in their cage! i have to tell the staff to put in water for the rabbits!! really sad..

Yalor, I can honestly say, within my fingers I can count how many pet shop does give a MINIMUN care for the pets out of hundreds around Malaysia. We can't expect them to care and feed like us, but at least basic care, need, cleaness must be there.

i guess they don't really understand the pets which they have, their needs etc. most of the rabbit food they carry are really low quality..can faint when i look at the nutritional contents. complete opposite of what a rabbit should have. i don't know whether its as bad for cats & dogs, maybe not cos there's more demand for cat & dog food..

even for chins, i don't see the good feed brands here..

U not find it..
they put the chin at small animal corner, and at first I also not notice any chins there until there's customer saw them in cage at counter floor... actually behind the counter. I saw about 6 chins there, 2 chins already reserved. If u go visit there again, check behind the rabbit glass, maybe u will see it.

ok thanks sharil!

Chinchillas, what kind of cage do you use for your chins? do you have pics to share? There are quite a few nice tall cages at the petshops, but the cage bar gaps are too big, around 1inch x 3 to 4 inches.. i haven't found any cage with 1inch x 1inch gaps, or smaller.

Safari and pet wonderland have plenty of good cage to sell. You can go for min 2' in width x 2' in high. Chinchilla like to jump, so buy cage that abit tall, but not too tall that they fall and die accidently. About the gap, as long as your chin is not a baby chin, 1inc x 1 inc will do will.

In case you seriously want to go for a chin, here is some simple guideline to purchase some item.
Cage : don't use dog cage, don't use cage that is wire bottom(need to be solid/flat ground), don't use cage is smaller then 2' in width x 2' in high.

Feeder n water bottle : use ceramic heavy clay bowl, use DOG type water bottle(those can fit in any mineral bottle as bottle), not rabbit or hamster type water bottle.

Bedding : Kaytee Aspen is good, Chipssi or other bedding that does not release aromatic oil.

If you really get a chin, I have 1 more new chin friend biggrin.gif
