Anyone bought directly from Sony before? Roughly how long would it take for them to ship to you? Or arrive at your home?

Received my tv yesterday but hardly got time for it, only unbox it during midnight and likely won't touch it until weekend. but here's a picture of it next to my old 42 inch tv.

ceiling height is high, that's why the wall looks big.

i feel just okay with this 55inch when sitting about 8ft away, although could stretch to 65 inch, might get a bit of motion sickness, i get that easily, so i opted for 55 instead of 65.

65 look like a small pc monitor too, unless hang a 85 inch tv, but does it make sense with 8ft sitting/viewing distance? don't think so, at least for me, and especially for wallet.

is that your view/distance from sofa? if so, then 55" really do look a bit small

guess camera view and seeing it with your own eyes does make a difference. it doesnt "look" this small when you see it with your own eyes.

Edit: especially when it's with 0.5x on your camera.

for 8ft, 55" is definitely OK.

my distance is about that, now using 50", ok.

55" will ok too!

Congrats on new TV, its individual preference, for a 8ft 55in is fine. I do know couple of my relatives has the same motion sickness issue when they come to my place, especially when they sit closer. I have 2 sitting arrangement, one is about 11ft and the other is at 20ft.

Enjoy your TV, its a good price break. Mine is an older model X90H

There are 2 issues.

1) People don't understand FOV. You need at least 30-degrees to get an enjoyable viewing experience. For cinema scope, you need 36-degrees (the THX recommendation). You (and many people) get motion sickness because you don't follow this often overlook rule.

2) Angular resolution is important. You spend all that money for 4k just not to be able to resolve it? Why did you 4k then? 8ft is simply too far for a 55" screen. The optimal distance in conjunction with viewing angle is actually 6ft for a 55" screen.

Hahaha true....but for many especially Msian, the price break is a big factor, hence many had to compromise going in between rather than optimal.

The other factor is also one's vision 20/20 or with glasses, that do play a factor on motion sickness.

I have almost perfect setting, but still visitors do complaint about it, hence I hv dual seat setup.

For those would like to check on hit, a good article and calculator here

Will b no brainer to buy big big $$$ TV if u hv the dough.

Typically, people spend more on a big house first.

Then fit an appropriate TV as best as possible.

There is also existing home theater, console, sofa to consider.

Quite a job to reconfigure unless u r a billionaire.

It's not like the TV or avr or speakers drive yr life!!

Booked an 77A80K for the bedroom, it’s about 13 feet viewing distance hence thinking to size up to 85” miniled or full array… but I still love the inky black OLED. Using 65A80J now but sitting rather close 😅 when move to my new house this 65” is going to be real tiny at 13 feet.

Anyone knows a way to increase the storage to Sony android TV so that more apps can be installed?

Damn I just installed a few apps already complain run out to storage.

The internal storage of the TV is 4.4 G ( except system area ). Looks like the entire storage for the TV is just 8 G. That is miserably small compared to a modern android phone.
