Is it just me, or does Dolby Vision basically just make the entire screen warmer?

It's far too warm for my liking, but they say that's how the movie is supposed to be.

cause a lot of people are very use to blueish white as opposed to real D65 whitepoint.

Could be, I noticed most of the monitors I calibrated before and owned are mostly blue-ish and when calibrated it more yellowish.
*
That could be it, perhaps my eyes are so used to blueish white.

So you guys usually set to Dolby Vision Bright or Dolby Vision Dark?

Damn it, I have a bunch of Dolby Vision contents in my USB, but apparently DV is not supported(has green and purple tint) via USB?

I tried to play the video using VLC, Kodi and built-in player, they don't work. sad.gif

Depends on my ambient light condition actually. Just tweak accordingly.
I play DV via Plex, it only supports the single track type.

Wait a sec, if you see green and purple tint means your display not getting the DV layer... I see that when I playback DV only files via PC.
*
Just (Video) Player is able to play the DV contents.

Bro try Just (Video) Player.

Yup, it does support DV. But it has black background for subtitle, which is a big no no for me.

Just got my Sony TV! I ordered 65X85K for RM4080 back in April and finally got the delivery last week. To my surprise, it’s a 65X85L that got delivered!

That's a very good deal!

Pay for entry-level tv price, get a mid-range tv. thumbup.gif

Sony A80L HDMI eARC port is connected to Samsung Q950T soundbar ARC port. Apple TV 4K is connected to TV HDMI 2.

Playing Netlfix content with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision only gets Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos sound is not played on soundbar, only normal 5.1 sound. Tried using auto passthrough and off passthrough on TV, both also no luck. The same connectivity had been working flawlessly with my previous LG 65 GX.

However, with built in Netflix app of Sony TV, the soundbar is getting Dolby Atmos signal. This confirms that the eARC is working.

Any expert Sony TV users can help with this?

I will be trying later tonight direct connect Apple TV 4K to soundbar and see if it works.

I read on Reddit, some people say Sony TV does not work well with other brand soundbar.

Have been using 65" X90H for 3.5 years and finally decided to upgrade to 75" X90L
Got it for RM7,819 (RM8,999 - 10% GSC discount - RM250 LaLaport voucher - RM30 Sony rewards) at Sony Store BBCC last weekend
Free additional 3 years warranty (5 years in total) + RM500 TnG eWallet + Sony Bravia Core + Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse
I believe this is the best deal in town after surveying for 3 months
Can't wait for my new tv delivery on Friday

I’m using A7000 + SW5 + RS5 full set sound system
Bought at Sony Store BBCC too in June 2023
I’m a big Sony fan because of PS5
*
You spare no expense when comes to home entertainment.

A7000 is god-tier soundbar in my opinion.

Thanks buddy, I will save up for A7000 + SW5. Hoping to get a good price during sales.

I am so jealous right now. My cheapskate brain won't allow me to spend RM5000 on a soundbar. Although I want it badly.

Do you have the all risk insurance from Sony? If I’m not wrong if you take the extended warranty from Sony you will be given 1st year all risk insurance
*
Mine comes with standard 2 years warranty.

Didn't know they have all risk insurance, it's all too late now. sad.gif

Update: Sony quoted me RM2500 + RM250 labour fee to change my broken screen.

I'm not sure if it's worth it. sad.gif
