SHAH ALAM, MAY 15: A one-minute contagious video on social media showing people queuing to enter the Covid-19 Assessment Center (CAC) at the Malawati Stadium here which is said to be occupying the center temporarily, is not true.

Petaling District Health Office Public Health Physician, Dr Faridah Amin said the party that transmitted the video clip had misunderstood, because the stadium was only used as a Covid-19 assessment site, not to accommodate patients.

Positive cases come for evaluation, after which it is followed by home surveillance, admission to the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC) Taman Ekspo Pertanian Malaysia Serdang (MAEPS), or hospital admission; according to the patient's current condition when under evaluation, "he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

Malawati Stadium has been operating as a CAC for the Petaling district since February 8 with a capacity of 1,000 to 1,200 patients to be assessed a day.

It replaces the Subang Jaya Municipal Council Hall (MPSJ) CAC at SS15 due to its capacity to accommodate more Covid-19 patients; and apart from Malawati Stadium, CAC also operates in eight other districts namely in Klang, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Hulu Langat, Sepang and Kuala Langat.
