how come my modem Ethernet light is not on when i connect to my macbook..?? it is mac os x 10.4.9...
can anyone teach me how to configure it step by step..
i m a new mac user..
i m having a hard time here tyring to connect to streamyx with my mac...i can connect it with window with my desktop pc though..
Plz help...tmnet tech support is junk

1. Click the Apple logo.
2. System Preferences < click
3. Network < click
4. Location = Automatic
5. Show = Built-in Ethernet
6. TCP/IP = configure IPv4 : Using DHCP
= DNS Servers : 202.188.1.5 and 202.188.0.133
leave everything else in TCP/IP alone.

7. PPPoE = click the "Connect using PPPoE" box.
8. type in your account name. eg : mystreamyx@streamyx. it must end with @streamyx
9. type in the password.
10. click the save password box.
11. click the "Show PPPoE status in menu bar" box.
12. you should have a new icon in the menu bar, near the clock. should look like <....> .
13. Click the icon mentioned in step 12, and click connect.
14. That's it!

ok i m testing hardware issue now..
i m afraid the network card is spoiled..coz the ethernet light is off in my modem
anyway i will definitely try ur steps later..

my modem is faulty
i try with dsl-500t and it works...
of course with the other setting though..
