Created for Ludum Dare 48, Deepest Sword is a physics based platformer where size really matters! In each level you need to climb through obstacles then attempt to slay a dragon. You can’t jump, but you can rotate your sword around you and use it to climb (as in Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy).
You start the game with a tiny little sword which is pretty maneuverable, but only useful for helping you climb small heights and hopeless for actually slaying the dragon. But each time you fail to slay the dragon (and are burned to a cinder for your troubles), you are given a bigger sword, a new section is added to the course and you get to try again. Eventually you may even end up with a big enough sword to slay the dragon!
It’s a great little game with a fun sense of humor and a very clever premise. The different sections of the level are particularly well designed, and force you to tackle them differently depending on the size of your sword. It turns out size does really matter, but also you have to know how to use it!
