I don't think there is such a camera. You need at minimal 2 x AA battery to run the cheapest camera.

Hmm, I used to have an old 35mm film compact that ran on 1 AA...

But in the 21st century I don't think there is such a cam.

There will be no one AA battery camera in the market today. Most camera need at least 2 AA batteries and some need 4 like Canon S5IS biggrin.gif

looks like u mistaken the AA battery size as rechargeable(in general)
AA size refers to the normal cylindrical type battery, which is usually ni-cd or ni-mh based,
while those used in modern phones and cameras nowadays are usually li-ion.

One AA battery can't provide enough voltage even for lighting up a LED. laugh.gif

One LED of course can ... but what's the point?
A camera cannot be compared to a handphone where one battery with substancial amount of voltage can power it for days before recharge. Cameras have this thing called 'flash' where a huge amount of light are projected on demand and it will kill any AA-size battery within few shots. Even a China-made toy film cam will die within minutes if powered with one AA-size cell laugh.gif

A typical LED requires 1.7V to light up. An AA battery can only supply 1.5V. It won't light up.

If it is using lithium ion, then we are 'tied' to buying sony batteries which is a big disadvantage in terms of price.

I would rather buy any AA standard batteries.

Not only LED, the CCD also need higher supply voltage to work. biggrin.gif

serious if u can afford sony's product, its accessories wont be much problem.

not only the battery, sony cameras memory stick, which is more expensive than those SD MMC CF.

however, they are always imitation, but imitation battery sounds more dangerous..lol..

I have to admire the level of technicality that the members have. Fuiyohhh....

Anyway, buy the most expensive camera u can afford. Canon has more accessories and i think it's cheaper. Sony if anything wrong then jialat.

Exactly. If it can't light up a simple power light, how can you expect the camera to shoot pictures. Lol..
