taste wise its like catfish but slightly different, more fatty and stronger muddy to it. its hard to describe it to anyone who is not used to the taste.
There's a gerai near my place which sells the soup version... haven't tried it yet... really a lot of bones ah? those fine bones which get stuck in your throat one?
Korran love belut. Saw one korean tourist jalan2 at temrloh sunday pasar tani. Borong all belut at this 1 pakcik. Maybe too cheap for them. Dunno how they will cook it

Taste depend on where the belut came from and how you cook it. If wild belut rasa more kenyal and a bit muddy. If from belut farm taste much better. Normally people masak gureng berlada or buat sup also sedap.

Dulu pun aku tak makan sebab macam geli. First time makan sushi belut (unagi). Sedap gila sial.
Rasa dia manis manis. Lain la daripada rasa ikan or daging. Sedap doh. Try makan.

No fine bone. They chop it up like carrot but thicker. You put one in mouth and spit out the bone once the flesh is dislodged
