My group use Protech Tournament, Yang Yang Victory (I think), Fleet and Victor. All of them are around RM 40+, standard price of many good mid-range shuttle.

This is what I think of them:

Yang Yang - good durability
Protech - overall good, less durable than Yang Yang though
Fleet - highest speed among the four, might overshoot it. laugh.gif
Victor - slower than Protech but same durability.

If you love durable shuttle, I suggest Yang Yang. If you want cheaper than Yang Yang shuttle, take Protech then. The price difference around RM 2-5 if i'm not mistaken.

At uni, we used Sea Lion but the durability is inconsistent IMHO. Don't know why... blink.gif

Don't know about Yonex shuttle though because it's too damn expensive. But it's damn good especially the flight speed and feel. Sometimes we would "steal" one or two from the training group near our court. They use AS-30 or 40 if I'm not mistaken. laugh.gif

Our group uses RSL Gold priced at RM42/dozen. Good durability and very consistent compared to RSL Silver or Official.

AFAIK most of the shops around Klang (Meru & Kapar) area sells RSL Gold for between RM 42 - RM 44. Not much more than that.
RSL Silver ~ RM 37 & RSL Official ~ RM 34.

Maybe because the company that imports them is based in Southern Park, Klang (address on shuttle container)

They have got heaps but Gold, Silver & Official are the more popular ones and hence easier to find in the local shops at my area. I don't buy the types that are not so popular since they'd be one the shelves longer and quality might have deteriorated over time.

So far I would say ProAce is 1 of the Top quality shuttle. Especially the 1 display with Deep Blue colour Font and the White Colour background, I would say is very good and durable.

My comment about RSL shuttle is not that good when come to durable wise, somehow the ProAce shuttle I mention above got limited of stock, And according to tauke in Chang Siah store Bangsar those ProAce shuttle can easily get from Taman Megah badminton court only.

Last time when I was still in sukan teras training, the government sponsered us with free yonex aerosensa shuttlecocks. So you know.. I tapao some of them home after training. =)

I don't think they are that durable as Yonex claim they are. My coach complained how lousy they are when the feathers start to fall apart just by hitting base line to baseline strokes.
Too expensive for me to afford them anyway. 1 dozen of them already cost around RM70+.

Currently using Yang Yang's shuttlecock. Affordable for me. MSSM official shuttlecock. tongue.gif

Hi all, does anyone know where to get RSL gold shuttlecocks around Kepong or PJ areas? I have been searching many shops but just seems like it doesn't exist. Most probably I'm searching at the wrong places all the time, so can anyone help to guide me where to get it? Thanks so much.

Actually the most durable shuttle is Yonex Aerosensa 40 (so far I had tried). I don't know what is the type of shuttle that be used in international tournament but I guess it's not far away from this regarding the quality. But it costs about 70-80 ringit. Yes it's costy but if you think you're a good player, you can go for it. A shuttle can last for at least 2 matches, if you're beginner then you're not recommended for this. Because beginner always cannot hit accurately on the head of the shuttle cock, once you hit the feather no matter how good is the shuttle it spoils.

Next should be ProAce. Cost around 50? Not sure...
Try on Yonex Aerosensa 30 if you're not beginner, it's cool too. smile.gif
RSL Gold is quite durable but will becomes lighter in a short time. Means the shuttle speed becomes slower and slower. For me it can't satisfy my passion definitely...

You buy the cheap one, frequent change shuttle = consume more shuttles = use more money to fulfill demand. So what's the different you straight away buy expensive one, very durable = consume lesser shuttle per match = and the most important is you get the satisfaction biggrin.gif

For me i Prefer RSL Tourney Classic , Second = SeaLion Gold , Third = SeaLion Black White (with Red writing on C1101)

RSL Gold. ok.. but play halfway, shuttle slow down. Cannot last 1 game.

This only point of view only.

RSL Tourney Classic shuttlecock offer value for your money(The black tabung one). Have been using it for a long time. Don't feel there's urgency to try others coz very satisfied with the shuttlecock. very durable and long lasting. Cost RM49 per dozen (obtained from a shop at bangsar...AJ racket mart Puchong also sells RM49)

i think i've tried proace (green/white tube??)
not very durable.. with a few smashes, the feathers are everywhere..

if i've not missed out any of the posts.. recommended brand of shuttlecock are ProTech and RSL?

dunno why.. nowadays very hard to find places selling Yonex shuttles..

RSL OK...YONEX OK...

nothing much to comment, but if u are beginners i seriously suggest Yonex Plastix shuttlecocks. Very very good durability, it flies normal speed also. The FEEL only slightly diff, but speed and range wise its the same, its cheap too haha...

Yonex shuttle if u all din notice naik harga again lor...maaaaaaan...

Basically, there is no brand that remained durable for a consistent long period. The durability of a shuttle is all down to the batch the shuttle is produced. Certain brand will be more durable when the feather is good. Generally goose feather is better then duck feather. For cheaper option, try FLEET, Kx, or Pro-Tech. Aeroplane brand from China is very good for professional play.

You can try to steam the shuttle to increase the durability. Google it and you will find how to do it.

RSL Tourey Classic..Never tried that, only tried Gold and Silver...

Yonex rubber made shuttle is not bad. Despite a bit heavier than regular shuttle, its speed is quite standard. smile.gif

hehe.. it is exactly the one that feralee posted..
anyway.. if i favored the RM46 sold by AJ, i might as well buy it near my place.. cos include toll + petrol.. it would be roughly the price i paid..

tried last nite.. a game of 15-point double with quite a lot of smashes.. the shuttle is still looking good.. biggrin.gif

I'm using RSL No. 1. It's quite OK to me, quite value for money. But sometimes the shuttle can get really slow after some smashes. Just need to straighten the feathers, then it's OK again.

But today I found out the price increased by RM6. WTF!!! Where does everyone buy their shuttles from?

I can buy RSL Silver for RM 40. The shop is located at Pandan Capital, Cheras. Why they charge you so expensive?
