UPDATE: 2nd Jab diary / 11 July 12.10 pm

1st day: No feel
2nd day: Only slight numbness at injection spot, can raise arm normally
3rd day: Same like Day 2, slightly better
4th day onwards: no side effect anymore

******************************************************************************************************************************************
UPDATE: 2nd Jab / 7 JUL, 2 PM

yay took my 2nd AZ jab at PWTC just now.

Please note the police will only allow us to enter PWTC 30 min prior to appointment time stated in MySejahtera. Not sure if they still allow family with same date different timing to masuk sekali or not.

I do noticed many ppl standing and wait by the main road.

Please bring umbrella if its rainy/cloudy especially if you park at Basement/outdoor.
Coz you need to walk all the way from car park, thru the car park entrance itself, and walk to PWTC main gate. All elevators / lobby entrance in car park are closed.

Appointment 2 pm, sampai 1.30 pm, no queue terus masuk and cucuk around 1.35 pm, habis observation and left at 1.50 pm.

Total took 20 minutes saja. My station looks quite empty and can see the volunteers are kinda relax and free jer.

Will update if any side-effect arises.

******************************************************************************************************************************************

UPDATE: 2-JUL 12.35am

- I gotten my 2nd dose appointment on 7th July liao, unlike the 1st dose MySejahtera this time tak ada pop up notification.
Sesiapa yang sudah cucuk your AZ once sila semak MySejahtera. Sekian.
- After cucuk my 2nd dose, I will resume to update my status here in this first post.

******************************************************************************************************************************************
Hey guys! So I have taken my first dose of AZ vaccine at PWTC noon just now.
Male, 27 yo, Chinese, healthy with no hospital admission record.
No medication, no allergies.

Note:
1) It seems PWTC allow whole family to take the vaccine in same slot even if they gotten different time/date slot, remember to check with the staffs there. My gf family tried and it is allowed.
2) Anybody received COVID vaccine must wait for 7 days before being allowed to donate blood, called Pusat Darah Negara and they confirmed this.
- If have any symptoms, must wait 14 days instead.

Summary:
1) Smooth vaccination process, overall takes 30 minutes for queue and consultation, 10 seconds to jab, then another 15-20 minutes for observation. The staffs and volunteers there very nice and helpful too, no shouting no garang no bad attitude.
In total, took 50 minutes to settle everything.
Oh ya if possible bring your own pen, coz need to fill and sign consent forms there. Or you can just borrow from staff / fellow vaccine receiver nearby. I don't see the pens being sanitized la, maybe they do it periodically only.
Aircond a bit strong, wear jacket if you are takut sejuk kind. Dont wear long sleeve shirt though otherwise susah to jab your arm.

2) Better take grab there, passed by the parking lot and it looked super full. Not sure about the parking at Sunway Putra Mall though.
I went there for lunch after my jab, the mall itself looks not crowded. No Raya decoration and feel too...

3) There will be a 1 to 1 consultation with doctor before the jab, can prepare your questions and concerns then consult them.

Questions asked quite standard la:
- Any illness or not
- Taking any medication or not
- Any allergy or not
- Any severe symptom from past vaccination or not
- Pregnant or breastfeeding or not

4) Dont worry the jab not painful, and really very fast. Saw the expiry date of the vaccine of my batch is 30th June though.
Wonder if the vaccine is near expiry, will it be less effective? hmm.gif

5) Symptom wise, it's been 3 hours already - other than a bit soreness, no scar no swollen yet.

6) Next jab should be 12 weeks later, so I guess next jab is around final week of July.

7) Adverse Event Following Immunisation (AEFI), please report via the MySejahtera App or contact the nearest clinic/hospital immediately for medical assistance.

-Faint or light-headed
-Changes in heartbeat
-Shortness of breath /wheezing
-swelling of lips, face or throat
-hives or rash
-nausea or vomiting
-stomach pain

Though during pre-vaccination consultation, the doctor said can try over-the-counter medication first, if the condition not improving, only then go to hospital.

Will update here in case I developed new symptoms lol.
******************************************************************************************************************************************

DAILY UPDATES: (Panadol taken to date: 0)

Symptom-free since Day 7.

Day 6 (10 May):
Morning - feeling a bit mixture of feverish / chill. But measured body temp and it's just 37 Celsius. Must be caused by Monday blue lol.
Injection spot no more stiffness / bengkak, can raise arm and pusing pusing like normal already.

Day 5 (9 May):
Totally fine, no symptoms whatsoever at all.

Day 4 (8 May):
Arm still stiff, but around Day 3 night started to have red spots on my left shoulder (the arm I took jab).
After waking up on Day 4, the red spots have subsided. Will monitor closely.
Other than that, no other side-effect coming out yet.

Day 3 (7 May):
Day 3 and still doing fine haha!
Yesterday evening terkena some rain and felt a bit feverish, but measured my temp and it was normal.
Arm still sore and stiff, will only feel it when lifting the arm though.

Day 2 (6 May):
As of 11.40 am, my 2nd dose appointment in June has been removed, could be technical glitch, cukur!

Morning guys! It's Day 2 morning and my arm actually feels slightly stiffer after waking up. Other than that, no other symptoms whatsoever.

Important: Never cucuk your dominant arm, and those work in factory setting etc that requires manual operations on heavy machinery, please be mindful.

Urgent update: KKM has also just sent me notification 7 am just now saying my 2nd dose has been scheduled on 2nd June.

The thing is, according to Malaysiakini: "It found that the efficacy is 55.1 percent when the doses were administered less than six weeks apart, but this improves with increasing intervals up to 81.3 percent when administered 12 or more weeks apart." SOS 1

And Nature, a very reputable science journal: "The interim results from AstraZeneca do not add more clarity on how to optimize dosing, because all participants were given two doses four weeks apart. Falsey says that a longer gap would probably induce a stronger immune response, but a briefer interval is more practical in the middle of a pandemic. The WHO recommends an interval of 8 to 12 weeks." SOS 2

So, I don't understand why KKM is pushing for such short interval, the efficacy could have dropped to 50 percent lol.
A herd of ppl with 50 percent vs another herd of ppl 80 percent efficacy, that's like grade D vs grade A in exams.
Unless KKM plans to introduce booster vaccines a few months later?

By right, since we have taken the first dose, the COVID virus is less deadly and less likely to spread through us already.
Why not wait longer for better efficacy? Do it properly once and for all la. doh.gif

Please check with your friends/family that have already taken 1st jab and see if they have received 2nd jab appointment in early Jun too?

You're probably 1 in a quarter then.. both my sisters who had their AZ first shot in the UK, had fever the next day that lasted 1.5 days. 2nd shot had barely any side effects.

Both working in the COVID ward in the UK, one of my sister had contracted the virus last year before the vaccination drive.
*
Ohh, ya I'm kinda prepared for getting fever - stocked some dry foods already haha.
Mind if I ask your sisters gotten their 2nd dose in what interval? 8 weeks apart or 12 weeks?

At PWTC, Some of the people without appointments got called in and vaccinated before closing time.
*
Lol didn't know vaccine also can do clearance before closing shop, though KKM did said those missed the appointment will be queues at the back of the line.
Maybe they already carry the vaccines and since not taken and dont want to waste it/transport balik, they just cucuk whoever at the scene.

QUOTE(brkli @ May 6 2021, 11:01 AM)
besides current stock nearing expiry. there is also another issue of not getting new stock in time.. if give to you now.. after 12 weeks(maybe more) both you and TS probably will not get anything..
*
Yes possible also, that means we could be taking the same batch of vaccine twice in a row.

or they actually called you for the other vaccination appointment
then only they realized you injected az?

Hmm, quite possible. It reflected my 1st dose already completed in MySejahtera app.
But when I checked on https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/semak-status/ , the status is still TELAH DIJADUAL.

TS, any advice on what time should arrive if appointment at 10am? thank you
*
You should be there at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment, which means 9.40 am.

Go also no use, the staffs there will only ask ppl to line up 20 min prior.
Process kinda like:
-20 min prior, staffs start calling ppl to line up
-then masuk and sit at designated waiting area
-go in for temp screening and can MySejahtera for attendance
-sit in a hall for a while, then move to corridor to fill up consent forms
-proceed to consultation, then jab
-finally, stay at observation area for around 20 min, get your vaccination card, then can balik

Overall settle in less than 1 hour jer.

QUOTE(wjleong15 @ May 6 2021, 11:58 AM)
12 weeks from 5/5 should be around 28/7
*
yup, thats what the doctor told me during consultation session too, latest latest by 30 Jul

Nurse pretty or not?
*
Sure pretty la, but vaccination booths are split by gender, so most female nurses are in the female area
But the jab itself very fast la, you will only see your nurse for less than 3 seconds to verify name, then he/she will cucuk your arm beside u
So actual face-to-face moment, maybe around 5 seconds jer if add on 2 seconds of sating thank you lol tongue.gif
