just bought my first close up filter (hoya +4), shoot with panasonic FZ20

did you try to shoot at other zoom levels? 10x? 9x? may be caused by the maximum zoom.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicfz20/page9.asp * Very occasional exposure problems * Focus at extreme telephoto sometimes hunts, occasionally misses * Some red fringing at 12x/wide apertures (rarely seen in prints) * Images can look a little soft viewed at 100% - sharpen up well though so did u turn ur OIS on? or just the wind working against u? that's y some blur? my suggestion... (not a pro, just personal opinion) dont fully zoom ur camera (close up instead), use spot metering/macro mode, bump up ur ISO, set faster shutter speed or any other sifu got better suggestion? That is the effect of the close-up filter. Use higher f number (f8) as the DOF is too shallow. Use a tripod and manual focus if possible. Keep on practicing to get use to taking pictures with the close-up filter.
