Ireland used to be a poor and backward country. Look how quickly you develop when are you will to have an open mind. Crazy to see them in no 3 is this even accurate?

The last decade lots of rich CECAs actually migrated there and settled down.

Their culture is mabuk todi culture. Really every meal is not a meal without Guinness!

Indians again are laying claims over that country now.

I know some people from there. In the 1950s it was supposedly a very backward place. Look like they really overhauled things.

lmao.. what nonsense. As per usual, liberal want to claim everything as their own doing. tongue.gif

It is a fact. Ireland was a backward and socially conservative country until it evolved in the 1980s to become a modern and progressive state. The culture of the country has evolved from being intolerant and isolationist to what it is today. You can't do that if you don't adopt liberal views. Not everything has to be seen in the context of the US conservative vs liberal dispute. Malaysia won't progress until it becomes more liberal either.

What has making your country a tax free place where big companies like Apple, Amazon can park their HQ, and thus, get huge tax breaks gotta do with opening up to liberalism??

The connection is hardly there and you are just taking pot shot at conservatism for pot shot sake. There is no connection whatsoever to the rise of a country based upon being 'liberal'. Total and complete nonsense..

The culture and mindset of the country has changed radically since the conservative pre 90s. If you don’t want to give credit to that for their success, or think it has any role, then it’s up to you. Conservative Ireland was by all accounts a very backward place. Liberal Ireland is what you see today. Make your own connection.

causation doesn't have any correlation here. Your link of liberalisation doesn't have anything to do with a country becoming richer..

It's the same thing, I can't say that thanks to conservatism, Saudi Aramco is the most profitable company in the world.. It's ridiculous to suggest that conservatism or libralism plays a role when it doesn't..

What matters is whether or not a country agrees to make their country tax free and attract big whales. There is no connection here in what you said..

So how do explain the transition from a backward conservative culture when the country was poor to a liberal progressive culture when the country became richer and more successful? Coincidence?

U mean being liberal?

I think they could develop if they were more liberal. By liberal I don’t mean the US definition of it and all the nonsense that comes with it like the LGBT crap. I mean having a more open mind and being more tolerant.
