wow where did you cycle to? Do you cycle alone?

I just got my Tern D9. Very happy with it. smile.gif

It's also good for my mom who is in her 60s. She enjoys it very much cause it's lightweight compared to the big and heavy MTB.
Im glad that she could exercise more also.

Want to ask if your Tern Verge D9 has the Schwalbe One tyres and hydraulic disc brakes?

Looks like you guys did quite some detouring since 93KM is longer than the standard round island.

3:44 and 4:22

But in this video his Verge D9 doesn't use the Schwalbe One tyres like in the other video.

Tern also sell the CarryOn cover but I don't know if this is sold here or not.

oh no la. not the carry on bag. more like the bag to put on the bike while you are cycling to carry some of your stuffs like wallets and all.

also, does anyone use side mirrors for your bicycle?

The other day i woke up at 7am to ride around my house. super nice cause there were no cars! the only people i needed to be careful of are those road bikers. xD of course they are much faster but they always zoom past from my right side so sometimes i didn't see. almost swirled into one.

Wow, respect.

Been living here for so long, never did a round island with my bike - that stretch at Batu Ferringhi is too narrow + dangerous (too many buses).

Early morning is your best bet since traffic is still light. I usually ride out by 6am anti-clockwise.

i realise cycling is so fun when you remove the stress from the traffic. Good for yourself and the vehicle drivers also. xD So wake up early!

Hi all - i'm looking for a folding bike as well, plan to pick up cycling to keep fit smile.gif, my budget around RM 3k.

After google around, seems like Brompton is high recommended. However when i ask around, seems like it is out of stock and the waiting list is very long. So want to get this also hard, i need to move to next option.

So i need some advice, since Brompton is the best #1, what is the #2 or #3 brand to consider? The most important criteria for me is easy to fold and not too heavy, i'm just a small girl with 48kg.

I tried to read most of the recent posts as well, Tern, Dahon and Pikes was mentioned alot - any specific model that u can recommend me?

thanks so much!

with 3K you actually have a lot of choices.

I just picked up a new Tern D9 2 weeks ago. Because well, like some other forumer mentioned here, it's better to just go for the best one instead of wasting money later to either repair, or get a cheap one only to find yourself spending more money to upgrade later.

When i was in the shop, I did speak with the shopkeeper and got to check out the other brands. True enough, brands like Dahon, Tern (didn't check out Bromptom cause they don't have), or the higher tiered TRZ (about RM2K+) their joints, body, overall frame feel sturdier. It somehow feels like they are less likely to break down or wobble or something like that. I reckon that's the most important part of the folding bike because if the joints break or are just plain fragile, i don't think you will enjoy your ride.

So imho going for Dahon, Tern won't be wrong. Brompton is more expensive i think? Like much much more.

I did see some people selling Tern D9 about 1-2 months old for RM3K only. Something to consider. smile.gif

I think some Dahon models or Tern B7 or something are selling for about RM2K or so as well.
