A lil bit of our background
I'm a Malaysian guy and plan get married to a Thai girl which has been working in Malaysia for the past 3 years in a MNC in KL. We were nvr married and this will be our first time getting married, so the journey to get our marriage registered with JPN has been one hell of an "amazing race" challenge. The guides u find on the internet are mainly incomplete and some not relevant anymore. We advise couples to do the below procedures together as it will make your relationship stronger (don't say we didn't warned u) LOL
So to help those who are in the same boat as us, here goes our step by step guide:

A) Thai Embassy, Malaysia & Thai Consulate, Thailand
1. Make your way to the Thai Embassy in Jln Ampang, KL to collect the necessary marriage forms. Filled it up and send it back to her parents/ guardian back in Thailand to get it stamp (400 baht x 4 stamp= 1600 baht) this will include the marriage forms, single status letter and her birth cert and get it translated into English at the Thai Consulate in Thailand.

2. Her Parents/ guardian to send the original forms back to Malaysia, remember to include her ORIGINAL birth cert (use DHL courier coz safer)

3. Once original forms are back in Malaysia, pls go back to Thai embassy in Malaysia to get it re-stamp again (RM60 x 4 stamp = RM240 cash only)

Congrats for making it this far, u can take some rest to load up on your stamina/ protein for the next part of the amazing race....

B) MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Putrajaya
4. Head on to MOFA, Putrajaya and get all your forms stamp (RM60 for 4 stamps).

C) JPN, Putrajaya
5. Once u got the MOFA stamp, make your way to JPN Putrajaya, Level 1 (apparently u can walk in) and let them check all your forms. As for our case, we need an additional "Surat Akuan Bujang" as JPN did not find the word "Single" in her single status form. We were like Wth???!

6. We quickly walked our way (about 1km from JPN) to the most beautiful Mahkamah Persekutuan in Putrajaya to get the Surat Akuan Bujang done with a fee of RM4 Debit Card only.(they don't accept cash or credit card). Staff were very friendly and helpful here.

7. Armed with our Surat Akuan Bujang we marched our way back to JPN Putrajaya and submitted our forms, they will hand u the KC09 form to be fill up on the spot and will check on her Original birth cert. The checking of forms is very thorough here, word by word they go through and once done they will hand u a sealed letter for you to bring to JPN Shah Alam. (The JPN branch to register follows the address on the guys IC).

8. Lunch, we were tooooo hungry by now..... amazing race will continue after this.....

D) JPN, Shah Alam
9. Arrived JPN Shah Alam, Level 6 (apparently u can walk in) and let them check all your forms. All good this round and just need to fill up form KC02. If any of your photocopy documents are not clear, there is a photocopy service at level 2 & 7 of the building.

10. Submitted all our documents and select the nearest date for our ROM. Boom, done!

***Tips to survive the above race:
1. Don't wear heels.
2. Bring water & light snacks.
3. Cover up, no revealing clothes.
4. Smile and be friendly to all officers.

We hope that the above can save u all the time and the hassle of going through all the unclear procedures in getting married to a foreign spouse in Malaysia, we believe some rules will also change from time to time and also depends on the nationality of ones' spouse nevertheless we hope the above could help those in the same boat as us. The above experience was documented on 26 April 2021 just for the record.

Our next amazing race will be the Immigration Dept..... darn! but bring it on.......

It boggles my mind that so many males walk into the marriage trap happily and willingly, it only benefits the girl and very disadvantageous to men, sex will gradually get lesser and upon divorce the girl steal half the wealth and get paid alimony, everything is stacked against your favour.

Mind letting me know what made you go this extra mile to tie the knot?

With that said, i still wish you all the best, hope you belong to the 5% that things won't go wrong.

I agree with you, but the problem is, most of the time men want to solve the problem but the girl will simply leave because she's spoilt with options, they don't bother to solve it and will quickly move on to the next one.

It's an unsolvable problem unless girl think rationally, sadly most don't, only a handful will.

Unless you been through these?
if not cannot tell why you are so sure girls wont want to solve problem. It seems that guys are more willingly to give up a relationship when they started to feel their partner is no longer attractive to them (in their mind) instead of find a way to spice up their relationship.

Congrats. Impressive that you never had to leave Malaysia. Some other countries you have to make at least one trip to your spouse's country's govt departments to get official papers...

All the best. Inter-country marriages come with their own set of challenges, speaking from own experience, but nothing is smooth in life. Live and let live.

Yup I'm only speaking from experience, recently found the truth inside a book, then i compare the content in the book against my experience, they exactly matched, and the book let me know the true reason behind all these tragedy, it's an unsolvable problem.

Girls will want to solve it... If they don't have much options. But if the girl is attractive, you can bet she doesn't care and will just move on.

To be fair, there's guy version of this tragedy too, they dump girls once they got what they want, and girls will suffer for the rest of her life being a single mother with no dad, seen it often.

But overall, girls are the one winning here, too much guys simping giving all the powers to girls, someday (maybe not in our life time) guys will finally realise this and pulled out all the attention, creating a more balanced world.

Lastly, personally I don't really easily give up on things, I don't just move on if things go wrong, I always try my best to save it, but sadly so far none of the outcome is positive, and I'm starting to thinking to not do anything anymore when the next time things go wrong, I'll just willingly to let them go, at least I achieve some success by doing so, they actually turned back and come back when I finally decided to not care.

The world works in reverse, believe it or not.
