I usually use wifi and bluetooth to transfer data. I use the KS20 to connect to my LAN via wifi to access to my comp.
Wifi speed very nice, nicer than bluetooth thumbup.gif but drain my battery alot sweat.gif Didn't use the SDcard transfer way because I also don't have the adaptor doh.gif

I also looking for USB cables. If I want to do flashing for ROM sure need those cables right? More things to explore biggrin.gif

Going to find program for alarm (the current alarm like...not working for me) and some backup software to keep all my setting and stuff just in case need to hard reset shocking.gif Any recommendation? biggrin.gif

I realise there is quite a number of things cannot be done within opera mini as there some limitation (like downloading files)
But I still like it because I can scroll the page easily smile.gif Good for web surfing.

I just downloaded this game, very nice 3D and interfactive (not slow) in my LGKS20. For those who likes racing car games, this is the one to get. Oh yeah, real Ferrari sound too!

Ya, I was wondering is there any external GPS available for this phone?
Currently playing around with google map too. Too bad this phone can't support the "My location" function. sad.gif

hi, just owned a LG KS20 yest..finally..

aanyone can help?
1. ive installed the iphone dialler, but how do i change if i dont want it?
2. ifonz 1.12..it says i need a newer version of microsoft CEL or something..anyone facing the same?
3. how do i put things into the menu bar? eg like putting the i phone pic viewer there or make it default

appreciate anyone;s help...new in this
*
Hmm, I try to help answer those questions, I'm actually quite new to this phone also biggrin.gif Used for less than 2 weeks, been exploring alot too.

1. What do you mean change? I actually uninstall the iphone dialer because I feel it is quite nice but too bad all my contact is in sim card. Too lazy to transfer to phone contact memory

2. You need to have .NET CF 3.5 installed first before you can use the ifonz.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

3. I assume you want to put at the Start menu there. You can go to Start > Settings > Menus then you can select which one appear on the menu there

thanks! ...

ive downloaded the .net CF 3.5. bt when i run it, it says "there is no application aassociated with "NETCFsetupv35".run the application first, then open this file from within the application"

my ifonz still says i need a newer version of .net CF then the one installed on the device.

help?? thanks
*
The device can only open certain type of files only. Preferable .cab files. Since .net CF files is .msi, you have to find a way to install it by using activesync (which I don't know ) or find other alternative. Try exploring the command msiexec in command prompt. I'm using msiexec /a <program filename> to extract it out, and them find the right .cab for the device. Kinda complicated and I don't know how to explain already sad.gif

Any expert here care to explain on how to install ifonz? Thanks

Hi all sifus biggrin.gif

I wanted to share my experience with HARD RESET shocking.gif with this KS20. Actually the reason I decided to do the hard reset is because of my itchy hand to play around with SKTool Lite and simply delete all those registry that appear after scanning. Maybe the problem is either the SKTool or the G-alarm.

After few round, my KS20 start to feel super lag...and keep hang. I can't even type 1 sms without problem and can't pick up call. I tried uninstall and reinstall and soft reset (repeat it 10x) but after for a while the problem keep coming back. So I tried spb backup that is suggested by DrWho and well, it is a trial version, but it allowed you to backup 5 times and if you hard reset, the trial is back to 5 tries again biggrin.gif

So I tried backup full one time for testing purposes and another time with the custom backup. And here I goes with the Hard Reset. Guess what? Everything really back to factory default setting, so all my sms gone. I thought it won't delete the sms tongue.gif

Anyway, I used back the spb backup (which in .exe format) and restore those sms and my documents. You don't even need to reinstall the spb backup which mean the backup will be with you if you save it in your memory card.
The only thing I need to reconfigure is my iFonz since I customise it quite alot and it is time-consuming. And after settle all the installation and configuration, I faster faster backup that version since it is consider stable.

If anything goes wrong and I need to Hard reset again, I can always use back that copy to restore it back to my customise iFonz (hopefully it is possible, if not I have to reconfigure those iFonz again sad.gif )

Currently now my KS20 is functioning well and smooth, no problem so far biggrin.gif

rainNShine,

about your reset > did your contact affected or not? or did you simply re install tour contact, and they remain in the same format?

thanks.
Hi mike,

Well, frankly said, I haven't export my contact into phone memory yet. So my contact all inside my sim card. That's is also another reason why I didn't install iContact.

I cannot tell you whether the contact will be in same format or not after restore. However, spb backup also have contact backup, so most probably you can try backup those SMS and contact number but not registry since your phone already got so much problem. So I only use the backup to restore back my SMS and my word documents inside since I only start to find backup software when the phone starting to have problem sweat.gif
Luckily didn't take much my time since I didn't explore and customise so much yet.

DrWho,

I'm interested to flash with wm 6.1 rom. But does that mean even if we have the original rom version (from the phone) we cannot reflash back to wm 6.0 rom?
Anyway, can you teach me step by step on how to flash to wm 6.1 biggrin.gif

Thanks

This skin runs on top of the standard Windows Mobile calculator. It's much nicer.

Hi edward,
Thanks for the calculator skin biggrin.gif Now the calculator look much nicer. Need to tweak abit here and there so that my ifonz calculator can display it as well

Hmm, how do you all see chinese character in your KS20? Because sometimes those mp3 are in chinese character and I don't want them to display box box box. Even my MSN messenger showing all those box character.
Need to install any software? Need recommendation again. blush.gif

Recently, I encountered a problem in my KS20.

After I soft-reset, my 'WiFi' setting is gone under Wireless. I can only see Bluetooth and Phone but not WiFi. The blue LED light is ON at all times and the icon of 'WiFi' is showing active too. Hence, the WiFi is defaulted to ON but I can't turn it off.

In order to reinstate it, I need to Soft-Reset again to get back the WiFi option under Wireless.

This has happen intermittently among reboots, anyone encountered this before?
*
I haven't experience this before. So far everything is fine. I don't dare to install SKTools anymore unless really really necessary tongue.gif
Disturbing the registry might make the whole thing unstable...(like my previous experience before hard reset)

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Dec 30 2008, 11:53 AM)
Ed,

morning!

i hv not encountered it b4.

but after my hard reset, KS20 only sticks to default keyboard.  so, each time i soft reset, i hv to manually switch to pcm keyboard with iphone skin.  sigh sigh sgh, koreans !!!!
*
I experience this too. But not sure is good news or bad news for me as pcm keyboard is not supported when I using internet browser like IE and the opera mini. If I accidentally open browser with the default pcm keyboard, I cannot change to other keyboard/letter recogniser and thus cannot key in any data. So usually the only solution is I have to soft reset to get back to normal keyboard and can switch freely.

Hi everyone here biggrin.gif

It been quite sometimes since I drop by this thread and gosh, there so many new things to learn about LG KS20 biggrin.gif
I find the flashlight trick quite useful because I usually go to camera function if I need to use the light.

I'm currently using PCMkeyboard latest beta version (0.21) and occasionally will have problem popping out the keyboard and other input when I starting wireless and IE at the same time (or something like that) I only can solve this problem by soft reseting the phone....
Which version you guys using for PCMkeyboard?

Hmm, that's why at first I thought it is not compatible with any internet browser but I was wrong. It does work with IE and also operamini. Yeah, was quite surprise also. This phone really full of surprises tongue.gif

Also just realised that at PCMkeyboard @?123 if press long will a totally new line of symbol. Thanks to the tip here biggrin.gif
At first while I reading this thread, I thought I need to install the ENG2Many skin but I hesitate because I kinda used to the default skin.

Currently going to install easy express to try out and perhaps foxit pdf reader for pocketpc wm5/wm6 version for fun tongue.gif

Happy exploring your phone! rclxm9.gif

Hey ed,
Thanks for telling me that 0.14 version of PCM keyboard is stable. If I not mistaken, first time I use that version I have some problem with it before I really do a hard reset on my phone. That why I thought the latest version seem to be better. Now it seem to be working very well.

Yes, listen to shinnyx, go download youtubeplay, I'm using that and I can definitely tell you it rocks.

I have this program called TCPMP too, though I only use it to play those flv files that I've downloaded, doesn't really work to make it stream youtube or any other video websites.
*
Yeah, youtubeplay rock! thumbup.gif I installed TCPMP before but already uninstall it because I feel it not working very well for me (abit not stable and not all files can play) as the default media player seem to be working very well except for the screen size abit too small for my taste.

QUOTE(xxboxx @ Jan 17 2009, 08:32 PM)
hello guys, seem i been hit with the battery status always show 100% problem. the problem started today when after a while i pull out the charger the status still show 100%...

anyone know anyway to fix this?
*
If your problem is those always show 100% and then cannot charge back since it show 100% then most probably is the battery problem. Have you tried soft reset? Perhaps it is just temporary only.

Anyway, I read it in some forum that certain batch of LG KS20 will have this battery problem. The only way to check is get a new battery or swap with someone else working battery.

I finally found a handfree for my LG KS20 after a long search. However, the bad news is my phone is not responding to the new handfree that I bought less than 3 days ago cry.gif cry.gif My phone is proven spoilt because the handfree is tested on another LG phone (LG Prada) and it working beautifully with nice sound. cry.gif I don't know whether to buy the usb cable after this problem sad.gif

So should I just bear with this problem or should I go fix it? I not sure whether is there any shops that willing to repair LG phones (just my assumption because it is very hard to find a handfree at other places). Anybody knows where I can find someone that have experience repairing LG phones (other than the LG center)??
