I like to try spb mobile shell 3.0. Anyone successfully run that application. I read there're many problem with it on ks20. I don't know whether it just a few people having that problem, or it is majority of them?

By the way, thanks DrWho. Really like your phone.. And, I just hard reset the your phone (my phone now) because I like to customize it with my own taste.. and it's easier to learn modding from scratch than figuring out what mod you have done on it... smile.gif

the only thing I don't like about it is I cannot customize the main menu spb mobile shell 2.2.. I can only add menu under "my menu" option ONLY.

And by the way, what is a nice pdf viewer program?

(oh, by the way, it is understood that the housing is not replacable like the old nokia phone..)

2) How do I make a shortcut for phone dialing? I want to make a short cut from the today's screen itself.. arggh.. I hate when trying to dial a number.. i have to click menu here and there before I can dial.. Any solution? I used spb shell 2.2 now..

yup i've heard that WinMO can be a pain. You'll either love it or hate it.. well i'll never know till i try right?  biggrin.gif read reviews on the KS20 and i didn't like the stock qwerty keyboard either. too small, but there are other keyboard applications i can install... the iphone alike keyboard is very comfortable to use, i guess that'll be the 1st thing to install haha.... she uses the phone mainly for sms and the occasional phone call so i think the keyboard is a very important feature..

yup my gf will not curse me, she'll just return the phone to me and use her trusty "old school" SE phone (tat's wat i call it).. hehehe... but i guess having a WinMo as a spare phone definately beats having a non customisable "cookie".. tongue.gif specs of the KS20 beats the cookie anytime..customisations will be mainly done by me of coz.. for me it's a new experiance with WinMo so i'm up for the challenge. Plus i think that KS20 is currently the cheapest WinMo device around (2nd hand i mean)? at least it's slim and it looks good compared to the old "bricks" HTC or O2 came up with... they're so big and heavy, i think my gf will knock me on the head with those...taking up too much space in handbags hahahahha rclxub.gif

another plus point, i know there are a few nice guys here who are helpful in the event i have any trouble customising WinMo! hahaha  rclxms.gif cheers! thanks for your advice....

At first, I hate this phone because it's difficult to sms using qwerty even after trying several 3rd party qwerty keyboards. Later I found out about HTC phone pad. I love it. It is a T9 phone pad, like regular phone. Now, I can write with one hand on the ks20 touchscreen. Better yet, I can make my own dictionary, very useful for writing malay words and other custom words using the T9 dictionary.

google for
-HTC phone pad
-Dictmgr (for customizing the phone pad's T9 dictionary).

But then, when browsing, easier to type url using qwerty rather than phone pad. So, I have both..

This is how T9 phone pad looks like on my phone

My custom dictionary... I stored a word "henpon". The word appears when I typed using t9 method

I love it.

looks nice... haha, by the way, can anyone here enlighten me on what's the current 2nd hand price of the KS20? say mayb 6-8 months old? thanks a lot!
*
The price is around RM650. The cheapest I found on garage sale the last time I searched (last month) is Rm480 for class 3... which means a lot
of scratches but still functional and it was the last unit. stock clearance..

I can't seem to get the driver for this lgks20 to connect to my pc.....can any1 help i tried a few methods through the internet already.....but still its not working.....its windows mobile 6....lgks20.......cany any1 help?
*
If you want to transfer files to you memory card, no need to install anything.. it acts just like thumdrive.. plug and play..

If you want to synch the phone with pc, or do some software installation that requires you to run from the pc only, just install active sync. No need for driver. Windows mobile is also made by microsoft.. so, it can connect easily to windox xp or vista.. no need drivers..

To switch from sync mode to thumbdrive mode, look/explore at the "connection" menu..

OK.. now I have my own question.. I'm using KiSS 6.1. I don't find a voice recorder application in it. Is there a built in voice recorder or do I have to install 3rd party software??

Let me know please. Tq

something similar except for the choosing correct wording part, i want able to choose the wording that i want by pressing some key instead by touching the list shown to select.
*
Yes.. you can touch, or alternatively select a word using the soft keypad.. In the picture, at the top most left and right, there's an arrow pointing to left (<) and right (>) respectively. You can use that to change the word selection.. Anyway, I find that touching the selected word is faster than clicking the arrow repeatedly..

Google for dictmanager ... or t9 editor... You can add your own custom word.

there r 2 types of GPS. I only got to know after owning iphone. iphone2g uses telco tower for location coordination.. where else 3G has extra satelite coordination which of cos, more accurate.

drWho, can KS20 use d telco tower for gps?
*
KS20 cannot use telco tower. It doesn't has this feature.

DUDE> GPS is GPS. go and google what GPS means. u CANNOT substitute GPS with GPRS and 3G!!!!1111

The most is to use GPRS to access google maps, but it cannot tell u where u are, its just a map. period.

It is a gps that use telco tower, instead of using satellite. The system is called "A-GPS" / assisted GPS.
To use A-GPS, the signal/data is transferred via gprs or 3G. Therefore, you'll be charge according to your broadband plan.

Be careful. If you're brought to court, you may lose like what had happened to a parking attendant lady at Mid Valley.
Someone bought an Estima using her ID, and now she is declared a bankrupt even though it's so obvious
that she can't afford the Estima.
