I need help, it's been the third time since I lost all my contacts from my LG KS20. My sim card is full, so I have used the phone memory / storage device to save my contacts in. But everytime I hard reset or some 'shit' happen, I lose all of it[not including the sim card contacts].

Can anyone tell me where I can find these contacts or at least, how I can back them up?

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is being a b***h, one of the reasons why I lost my contacts.

kengraphy,

you shd hv backed up in your pc, or sync them, or export them via outlook into an excel file before you do anything.  i think they can be copied or what?

cheers.

I keep getting this error with my ActiveSync with Outlook - "Cannot sync with Outlook with the profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile."

HI Mikey and Keng,

Sorry that I am not sure about this as well because I am not using Active Sync. But from the error, it tells:

1) your KS20 profile (ur name) is not matched with yr Actice Sync Outlook profile.
2) your Active Sync outlook profile has a password, you may need to enter the password to proceed with syncronisation.
*
I don't think I have a profile name to begin with, both my systems[pc and ks20] are default. Password I'm not too sure though.

Hmm, are there any other programs that can help to back up my files and contacts?

Hi king,

i think you bought the second KS20 right? someone might have set the profile there, just like pc there are user names?

is it possible to change or create another profile in outlook?

just my thoughts ....
*
Yup, my KS20 is indeed second hand, but it seems under owner information[I'm assuming it is this], it is empty. And it has been 'reformated' according to the seller, and I've done a hard reset myself.

Oh yes, DrWho, anyway to back-up contacts in storage card? I can't seem to find contacts in there. Can't manually back-up. =(

You certainly can. PPCPimBackup, Spb Backup or Sprite Backup are some backup programs capable of doing that. If you have SKTools, you can move the backup data folder to anywhere you wish. In fact you can even move programs and folders to your preferred location, ie from Device to Storage Card.
*
Ah, thanks for that, I'll be looking out for one of those programs.

kengraphy,

no regrets in using DrWho's Adv Config.  It is simpler to install and tweak.

Strange strange,

lately my KS20 is behaving in naughty ways: -

sometimes it goes 'phone off' without me doing anything as i left it in pocket. sometimes it goes bluetooth or searching for wifi without my instructions.

This left me with drained battery or/and missed calls.

also,

does anyone have this problem too: -

as i click the KS20 'ON', it shws different screen on different occasions, such as calender, sms, or connections (wifi, bluetooth and phone). what i expect is only the TODAY screen right?

thus, i think it is the connections manager prob, right?

thanks.
*
Did you device lock your phone and put it to sleep mode when idle? If I'm not mistaken wifi will always turn off in sleep mode.

I have noticed that occasionally when I turn on my phone it would jump to calender, but it could also be my fault[finger on screen maybe?], but I'm not too sure. It rarely happens and it's a minor problem, so I tend to leave it alone.

Yesss!!! this phone is damn the very good.  it makes us more aware of windows technology and applicaitons.  but you ave to be persistent and inquisitive to go along with it. oh, also need tons of patience and love for phone modificaitons.

give it a try. someone is selling dirt cheap at lyn.

Ed,

below are 3 pics of the HomeScreen spftware.

1.  the bottom left of the rows, there is a battery / power metter with digital display of remaining power. very clear and nice.

2.  at the most bottom right, there is the 'Screen Off' icon, small but very acurate and responsive to click and off the scree.

3.  the other bottom right is only my MissedCall Reminder, that reminds in selected minutes with choices of tones.

hope can be seen from the pics here.

Hey, what did you download to make the clock time bigger?

a question..
anyone notice that it's quiet hard to change the input method for example, from soft keyboard to handwriting recognizer?

i mean the small arrow...
*
Yup, but I guess it's all about getting used to. =/

It's rather occasional that I switch between keyboard to handwriting recog or vice versa.

But yeah, I have to agree that it is still rather difficult.

Been reading previous posts regarding SKTools, I managed get the full version of SKTools, just want to confirm whether I'm doing this right about getting it to 2gb ram.

SKTools > Optimize! > Action > Performance > Optimize! > Soft Reset.

Then, SKTools > Tune Up! > System Memory and Speed > File system cache > 2048k?

Am I doing it right?

*
Yes, listen to shinnyx, go download youtubeplay, I'm using that and I can definitely tell you it rocks.

I have this program called TCPMP too, though I only use it to play those flv files that I've downloaded, doesn't really work to make it stream youtube or any other video websites.

My Vito SMS keeps hanging, very inconvenient, have to soft reset all the time. So I removed it adi. =(

Otherwise it is a pretty nifty program.

*
You have to understand that it isn't really chrome you know. XD

Regardless, everything will wear off eventually, the part where the peeling is obvious for my case is at the charger/usb opener or cover.
