harlow guys! in need of help. icon_question.gif
somehow i cannot send or receive mms..
under settings>connections>advance, i put maxis 3g under "program that automatically connect to PRIVATE NETWORK".
is this the correct way?

anyone can write down their 3g/gprs connection settings and mms settings?
greatly appreciated..

There two ways to do it.

1. From your PC goto maxis.com.my to get your configuration. Look for 3G/phone Settings/MMS

2. From your device goto Programs/AutoProfile to setup

How is everyone? I've been away for a few days since Friday la... balik kampung ma.. .. anyhow, I'm back. I've removed my original screen protector and I do not intend to use any. I think the screen on the fone should be good enuff for slight scratches.

Anyhow, I just noticed the back is pretty badly scratched now, hehehehe...

BIG HI Ed,

no wonder its so quiet here.

i was also thinking of peeling off my protector, but then it costs me rm80. sigh. if it was cheaper, i will only use the BACK cover cos the back gets scratches much easier. unprotected front is more "KS20".

cheers ya.

Somehow I find that using the original pouch that comes with the phone leads to more scratches at the back. Hence I stopped using that after I noticed the first few disastrous signs. Now using a simple custom made soft leather pouch that is like a wallet. Less stylish but also less scratchy smile.gif.

Does Nimbuzz work on KS20. I downloaded the compatible version from the site and tried it, but doesn't work. Neither does the ppc version of Skype. Am at a loss. I use Skype, Gtalk and yahoo a lot. Is there any single software that can give me combined access to all 3 from my phone?

Hi Mikey,

Yeah, away only for a few days and it seems disconnected from the web-world for years. Hahaha.. I have about 400 emails to digest!

Pbriya,

I am with you. I stopped using the original cover after a week cos I get horizontal straight lines at the back. Anyhow, I am not using any back cover OR front protector now. The good thing is:

1) fone feels small and nice to hold on the palm
2) exceptionally clear and bright screen contract w/o any protectors

So, I think I'll use it as it is. Oh yeah, I have a satin like cover from my Creative MP3 player which fits perfectly for my KS20, so I am using that pouch now. Just in case the keys don't sratch the phone in my pocket.

PS: using a screen protector is like using a condom, safe but you can't really feel the actual result.

xxboxx,

with and without the protector is pretty obvious. it's brighter, sharper image and of cos, more sensitive to touch. i'm happy w/o any protector...

Deal xbox and Ed,

yeah, with the invisible shield, KS20 feels very "jelly" which means that you eed to "poke" the screen sharper and more accurately and deliberately. but i love the back protective cover as i dont need to worry abt the scratches when i am using it "naked" (no pouch).

well, give and take la. with the shield you are safer (as Ed said, no worry abt getting pregnant) but lesser feel (no so fun). lol.

cheers all.

Mikey,

How is yr KS20 so far? Before this, you were facing a lot of problem like hanging and lagging. Have u done a hard reset already?

By the way, I am using S2U2 v 1.35 now, works like a gem! smile.gif

i would still suggest you to put on the screen protector. once something with screen, the phone is considered GONE.......

I believe there are lot of good protector out there, may be a bit more $$
biggrin.gif

by the way, do you guys install any antivirus or spyware application in your device? is it necessary?

Added on November 20, 2008, 11:14 amdo you find the external storage (micro sd)read/write performance is very bad? my feelling is double to tripple times slower than the internal storage.

If i change the existing Micro SD to SDHC Micro SD 4GB, would the performance same as the internal one? Any good suggestion on the model ?

maan, thanks for the advise on screen protector.

KS20 supports up to 2GB only... if u wanna go above that, u need to crack it and it max out at 8GB.

One thing I dun like is, sometimes even after we put in a memory card with new files, it won't refresh even we chose the refresh option. Gotta remove the card, run Explorer and put it back to get the file view refreshed.
