There is nothing wrong with those files you downloaded.
You did not install it correctly. There are two type of files, sktoolslite.exe is for you to install the program from your PC. Run the exe file from the PC and the next time you connect your device via ActiveSync, the program will automatically be transferred to your device for installation.

The other file, lite.CAB is for you to install directly from your device. Copy only this file to your device. DO NOT UNZIP. Install by clicking it at device. It is best you install the program at device rather than at your storage card. Soft reset and you are ready to go.

You ONLY need to do one type of the above installation not BOTH. Suggest using the lite.CAB. Before you start, I would suggest you delete all those unzip files, which you have copied to the device.

Make sure you don't have to Hard Reset!!!!!

It is possible to deactivate word prediction in Touchpal. The method depends on the version. In one version you have to activate Direct input. In another version you have to exclude Word Prediction during installation. What version are you using? WM6.1 allows you to select word completion option at Start>Settings>Personal>Input. Maybe you could try your luck there.

stutzeward is correct. You are using the wrong CAB file. As mentioned in my above post, there are only 2 files from the downloaded zip file. One exe and one CAB. Transfer the CAB file to your storage card and run it. Do not unzip this CAB file.

Is your KS20 your Master or your Servant?

Once we have mastered the use of the KS20, we can squeeze out all its features for us to enjoy!
Today, I did a first. During a long car journey I was able to access this thread and send a PM to one of our member. Of course I was not driving!. You do not need any external modem, just 3G.

With KS20 I have been able to retrieve my emails both from my office server and TMnet. I can still do it even when I am oversea. I am still unable to send email from my device via TMnet. If anyone knows how to do it please share with us.

is DrWho using opera mini2?
where can i SAFELY download it? or is there better and faster browser?
My installed version is Opera_Mini_18_06_2008, apparently the latest version. I can't recall where I downloaded it from. Opera is know to be the best for Mobile phone.

i followed your instructions to try to deactivate the dictionary or word completion in the touchpal, but cannot find the option as suggested. maybe i shd re install it again? (this is not such a big problem, but i wish to get a larger keeypad while driving).

Sorry to hear. Installing reg file is always a dicey thing. Adding registry manually via registry editor maybe a safer way to install a reg file.

Installing and uninstalling programs is all part of the fun. During the last few days I have installed and uninstalled four prgrams:
Core Player - keeps hanging
Pocket Hack Master, you can increase the speed of the processor - unfortunately not meant for KS20 processor
MagiCall - Not bad but not my taste
Phone Alarm - Not bad but not my taste

Sucessful intallation:
Fake Call - Can program for any contact to call you at a prescribed time with the contact photo and phone no appearing when the phone rings. Of course it is a fake call. As my wife commented: "Meant for con man"

One click of a button to goto NEW SMS

To write a new SMS message we currently have to goto Start>Messaging>Text Messages>Menu>New. It is a pain in the b*** to get there. How nice if at a click of a button we can get there.
Here is how to do it.

Attached is a short cut to go directly to a New SMS.
1. Download the file and rename it from New SMS.lnk.txt to New SMS.lnk
2. Copy this file, New SMS.lnk, to your device to /Windows/Start Menu and paste it there
3. Goto Start>Settings>Personal>Buttons. Select a hard button which you wish to assign to launch the New SMS. Unless you have installed a program which will provide multiple keys usage, you need to sacrifice either your Camera or Internet launch key for this New SMS. You can still access Camera or Internet from Program
4. Select the button to be sacrificed.
5. Assign a program, scroll and select New SMS.
6.Tap OK

You are now all set to launch your New SMS by just pressing the assigned button.


For those of you who is unable to rename the file at your PC, do this. At your PC goto File Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View>Files and Folders - uncheck Hide extensions for know file types.

You should now be able to rename.

Enjoy For those who have successfully install this, please post a note. At least I will know that my effort is well worth it.

There three ways of rebooting our phones:
1. Soft Reset
2. Remove Battery and restart.
3. Hard Reset.

There is no way to launch the soft reset program when the phone hangs. Removing battery is the only way out. Since that did not work, Hard Reset maybe be the other alternative.

There is a program, CeRegEditor, which is to be installed at your PC for editing the registry in your device. It has a feature that can also Soft Reset your device from the PC. Since you are trying so hard not to Hard Reset you may wish to give this program a try before you do the unthinkable. My view is that the chances of you rebooting your device successfully is very slim. Here is the site to download the program:

To avoid similar incident happening again, make it a habit of closing the programs not just minimizing them, at least once a day. WM only minimizes the program. Your device hang because there were too many programs running at the same time and taking up all the available memory resources. See my earlier post showing how to close the programs.

I think I know the cause of that. Firstly, did you Hard Reset your device? If not how did you reboot your device? Does the White Screen comes with a message saying the screen is running on low resources?

I have Resco soduko installed and I do not have this flickering problem.

I don't think such post is allowable in this forum.
